THE VEHICLE WAS DRIVEN APPROXIMATELY 10 MINUTES TO THE GROCERY STORE, PARKED, WE SHOPPED, 30 MINUTES LATER, DROVE BACK HOME, AGAIN ABOUT 10 MINUTES. BACKED THE VEHICLE INTO MY DRIVEWAY AND SHUT THE VEHICLE OFF. GROCERIES WERE UNLOADED WHILE MY GIRLFRIEND WAS TRYING TO GET MY 18 MONTH DAUGHTER OUT OF THE CAR SEAT. SHE DID, CAME INSIDE AND APPROXIMATELY 2 MINUTES LATER A NEIGHBOR SLAMMED ON MY DOOR SAYING THAT THE VEHICLE WAS SMOKING FROM THE ENGINE COMPARTMENT. I WENT OUTSIDE, TRIED TO RELIEVE THE ISSUE WITH AN EXTINGUISHER, THIS DID NOT REMEDY THE SITUATION. THE SMOKE INCREASED, I WAS AFRAID TO POP THE HOOD DUE TO RISK OF OXYGEN EXPOSURE TO WHAT I ASSUMED WAS IN ACTIVE FIRE. 911 WAS CALLED,

Where these numbers come from

A complaint is one owner's account and has not been verified by NHTSA or by us. A vehicle with more complaints is not necessarily worse: models that sold in larger numbers collect more of them. How this is counted.
