ELECTRICAL SYSTEM

fire

The vehicle was completely dead on the morning of 2/24/2026. Following the proper jumping procedure, the vehicle was jumped to restore power. A message on the dash stated to "check charging system". This message is generic in nature and usually indicates a 12V battery problem. The vehicle was left on and then plugged in to a Level 2 EV charger. The vehicle then caught fire and destroyed our detached garage. Stellantis did send an independent investigator who indicated that the fire likely started on the front right of the vehicle. What component or system failed or malfunctioned, and is it available for inspection upon request? UKNOWN How was your safety or the safety of others put at risk?

ELECTRICAL SYSTEM
I am reporting an ongoing electrical/charging system problem with my 2024 Dodge Charger Daytona R/T. During August 2026 alone, my vehicle has been taken to the Dodge dealership four times for electrical-related problems, recalls, software updates, and/or repairs. Most recently, on August 14, 2026, I picked the vehicle up from the dealership after it had been serviced. While driving home from the dealership, the vehicle displayed a red electrical plug warning along with the message “SERVICE CHARGING SYSTEM.” I have a photograph documenting the warning. This is particularly concerning because the vehicle had just been returned to me as serviced/repaired, yet another charging/electrical-system

TIRES

13,600 miles

The contact leased a 2024 Dodge Charger EV. The contact stated that after the passenger’s side rear tire became deflated, the vehicle was taken to a tire shop, and the contact was informed that there was severe inner tire wear that had caused the tire to deflate. The technician stated that the tires were cambered inward while driving due to the weight of the vehicle. Upon inspecting the vehicle, the contact discovered that all four tires exhibited the same failure. The flat tire was re-inflated. The vehicle was taken to a dealer, and the dealer was informed of the failure. The dealer stated that the tires need to be replaced; however, the contact declined to pay for the repair. The tires

UNKNOWN OR OTHER
Recall claim was submitted for recall #44C and while dealer submitted claim the issue was never fixed. Car is still completely silent driving <18mph through neighborhoods. EV Took car to another dealer and they will not fix because a claim was already filed even though issue was never fixed.

ELECTRICAL SYSTEM
After having been in the possession of my car for 2 weeks, it went into a "bricked" mode where it could not be started. The only fix was for it to be towed to a dealer who was able to disconnect the 12V battery and reconnect it. This allowed it to run but in a reduced capacity. One week later, it was bricked again. I had it towed to another dealership who replaced that battery. The battery was faulty and was causing the car to not get receive updates. Since then, this issue has happened one more time and I was able to "reset" the car by walking away for 15 minutes, allowing the computer to turn off then try again.

UNKNOWN OR OTHER
While driving today I came to a stop sign, stopped. Proceeded to go and the Forward collision camera and surround camera kicked on and played a tone with nothing in front of me. Then as I proceeded to get up to speed the cameras and surround would not shut off. Or allow me to exit the screen. The camera finally shut off after about 10-15 minutes of driving at highway speeds. This is not the first time this vehicle has done this.

Where these numbers come from

A complaint is one owner's account and has not been verified by NHTSA or by us. A vehicle with more complaints is not necessarily worse: models that sold in larger numbers collect more of them. How this is counted.
