- The defect
- Great Dane Trailers (Great Dane) is recalling certain 2024-2025 Champion trailers. The cylinder pin in the slide liftgate may be insufficiently lubricated, which can cause the pin to seize, resulting in lift gate failure.
- What it can cause
- A lift gate that fails during operation increases the risk of injury.
- What the dealer does
- Great Dane will work with Hiab to replace the lift gate cylinder pins, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed January 28, 2026. Owners may contact Great Dane's customer service at 1-877-369-3493.
The repair is free, whatever the age or mileage of the vehicle, and whether or not you are the original owner.
