- The defect
- East Trailers, LLC (East Trailers) is recalling certain 2024-2026 Beast and Beast II trailers. An improper weld may fail, causing the rear impact guard to detach. As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard numbers 223, "Rear Impact Guards" and 224, "Rear Impact Protection."
- What it can cause
- A detached rear impact guard cannot mitigate the impact of a crash, increasing the risk of injury.
- What the dealer does
- Dealers will repair the weld joint, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed March 12, 2026. Owners may contact East Trailers' customer service at 1-574-295-7888.
The repair is free, whatever the age or mileage of the vehicle, and whether or not you are the original owner.
