- The defect
- Vermeer Manufacturing Company (Vermeer) is recalling certain 2002-2026 BC1800XL brush chipper trailers. The hydraulic jack may extend unexpectedly.
- What it can cause
- An extended jack may contact the ground while driving, causing a loss of vehicle control and increasing the risk of injury or a crash.
- What the dealer does
- Dealers will repair the hydraulic jack, free of charge. Owner notification letters are expected to be mailed August 7, 2026. Owners may contact Vermeer customer service at 1-800-829-0051 ext. 7060. Vermeer's number for this recall is IK4837.
The repair is free, whatever the age or mileage of the vehicle, and whether or not you are the original owner.
