BACK OVER PREVENTION:WARNINGS:EXTERNAL/PEDESTRIAN ALERT
- The defect
- Teko Inc (Teko) is recalling certain 2026 Triumph, Turbo, TurboLite, Trophy, and Trophy Plus vehicles. The acoustic vehicle alerting system (AVAS) may not have been installed, preventing the vehicle from making pedestrian warning sounds. As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard (FMVSS) number 141, "Minimum Sound Requirements for Hybrid and Electric Vehicles."
- What it can cause
- A vehicle that does not make a sound may fail to alert pedestrians of an approaching vehicle, increasing the risk of a crash or injury.
- What the dealer does
- Teko will provide an AVAS kit, free of charge. Owner notification letters are expected to be mailed August 17, 2026. Owners may contact Teko Customer Care at [email protected].
The repair is free, whatever the age or mileage of the vehicle, and whether or not you are the original owner.
