- The defect
- Winnebago Industries, Inc. (Winnebago) is recalling certain 2027 Arka recreational vehicles. The rear Gross Axle Weight Rating (GAWR) and cold tire inflation listed on the federal placard is incorrect. As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard (FMVSS) number 120, "Wheels and Rims - Other than Passenger Cars."
- What it can cause
- An incorrect GAWR and cold tire inflation combination can lead to unintentionally overloading the tires, increasing the risk of a crash.
- What the dealer does
- Winnebago will mail out corrected labels, free of charge. Owner notification letters are expected to be mailed October 30, 2026. Owners may contact Winnebago customer service at 1-641-585-6939 or 1-800-537-1885.
The repair is free, whatever the age or mileage of the vehicle, and whether or not you are the original owner.
Which vehicles
A recall reaches a range of VINs inside these model years, not every car built in them. Yours may not be covered even if it is listed here, and the only way to find out is NHTSA's own VIN lookup.

How this campaign compares
At 56 vehicles this is a small campaign: 77% of the 19,826 vehicle recalls with a published size filed from 1995 up to this one are as large or larger. The middle campaign among them covers 472. It covers one model year, 2027, and the defect was reported to NHTSA in 2026, at or before the oldest model year it covers — as current as a recall gets.
Winnebago vehicles have been recalled over the equipment 86 times before this, most recently in July 2026 as 26V498000. That is not evidence the earlier repair failed.
Check your own car
A VIN check is the only answer for a specific vehicle, and it also shows every other open recall on it, which is usually the reason it is worth doing rather than reading one campaign.
Filed by Winnebago Industries, Inc. with NHTSA on September 18, 2026 as campaign 26V601000. Every word of the defect, consequence and remedy above is NHTSA's published record of that filing, not a summary of it.
