PARKING BRAKE:CONVENTIONAL:AIR

The defect
Nova Bus (US) Inc. (Nova Bus) is recalling certain 2024-2025 LFS transit buses. The emergency brake valve may have been improperly tightened. A loose connection may cause an air leak and the unintentional activation of the parking brake.
What it can cause
The bus may suddenly slow or stop without the brake lights turning on, increasing the risk of a crash.
What the dealer does
Nova Bus will inspect and properly tighten the air line connections as necessary, free of charge. Owner notification letters are expected to be mailed November 21, 2026. Owners may contact Nova Bus customer service at 1-800-350-6682. Nova Bus's number for this recall is CR5494.

The repair is free, whatever the age or mileage of the vehicle, and whether or not you are the original owner.

Which vehicles

A recall reaches a range of VINs inside these model years, not every car built in them. Yours may not be covered even if it is listed here, and the only way to find out is NHTSA's own VIN lookup.

How this campaign compares

At 5 vehicles this is a small campaign: 95% of the 19,830 vehicle recalls with a published size filed from 1995 up to this one are as large or larger. The middle campaign among them covers 472. It covers model years 2024 to 2025, so the oldest vehicles on it were 2 model years old when the defect was reported to NHTSA.

Nova Bus vehicles have been recalled over the parking brake 2 times before this, most recently in July 2024 as 24V518000. That is not evidence the earlier repair failed.

The vehicles on this campaign carry 12 other recalls published here, the newest being: 26V573000 (engine and engine cooling), 26V355000 (service brakes, air), 26V206000 (visibility), 25V822000 (engine and engine cooling).

Check your own car

A VIN check is the only answer for a specific vehicle, and it also shows every other open recall on it, which is usually the reason it is worth doing rather than reading one campaign.

Filed by Nova Bus (US) Inc. with NHTSA on September 22, 2026 as campaign 26V604000. Every word of the defect, consequence and remedy above is NHTSA's published record of that filing, not a summary of it.
