POWER TRAIN:AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION:CONTROL MODULE (TCM/PCM/TECM)
- The defect
- Jaguar Land Rover North America, LLC (Land Rover) is recalling one 2026 Range Rover Sport vehicle. The circuit board in the powertrain control module (PCM) was misaligned during production and may be deformed.
- What it can cause
- A deformed circuit board may cause a loss of drive power, increases the risk of a crash.
- What the dealer does
- A dealer will replace the PCM, free of charge. An interim letter notifying the owner of the safety risk is expected to be mailed November 20, 2026. An additional letter will be sent once the final remedy is available. Owners may contact Land Rover's customer service at 800-637-6837. Land Rover's number for this recall is D164.
The repair is free, whatever the age or mileage of the vehicle, and whether or not you are the original owner.
Which vehicles
A recall reaches a range of VINs inside these model years, not every car built in them. Yours may not be covered even if it is listed here, and the only way to find out is NHTSA's own VIN lookup.

How this campaign compares
At 1 vehicle this is a small campaign: 100% of the 19,834 vehicle recalls with a published size filed from 1995 up to this one are as large or larger. The middle campaign among them covers 472. It covers one model year, 2026, and the defect was reported to NHTSA in 2026, at or before the oldest model year it covers — as current as a recall gets.
Land Rover vehicles have been recalled over the power train 8 times before this, most recently in October 2025 as 25V705000. That is not evidence the earlier repair failed.
The vehicles on this campaign carry 4 other recalls published here: 26V613000 (structure), 26V297000 (seat belts), 26V097000 (structure), 26V005000 (equipment).
Check your own car
A VIN check is the only answer for a specific vehicle, and it also shows every other open recall on it, which is usually the reason it is worth doing rather than reading one campaign.
