25V722000 · October 23, 2025

The defect
Maserati North America, Inc. (Maserati) is recalling certain 2024-2025 Grancabrio, 2024-2025 Granturismo, and 2023-2025 Grecale vehicles. The headlights may be missing adjustment prevention caps, which can allow the headlights to be improperly adjusted. As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard number 108, "Lamp, Reflective Devices and Associated Equipment."
The risk
Improperly aimed headlights can result in insufficient illumination of the road, reducing the driver's visibility, and increasing the risk of a crash.
The remedy
Maserati North America will inspect and, if necessary, install one or two caps to cover the horizontal headlight aim adjustment mechanism, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed November 25, 2025. Owners may contact Maserati customer service at 877-696-2737. Maserati's number for this recall is 805. Vehicle Identification Numbers (VINs) involved in this recall will be searchable on NHTSA.gov beginning October 28, 2025.

The remedy
The radio software will be updated over-the-air (OTA) or by a dealer, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed March 10, 2025. Owners may contact Maserati customer service at 877-696-2737. Maserati's number for this recall is 740.

SERVICE BRAKES, HYDRAULIC

towed · 2,666 miles

The contact owns a 2023 Maserati Grecale. The contact stated that while driving 20 MPH and approaching a stop sign, the brake pedal was depressed, but the vehicle failed to stop as intended, made a loud revving sound, and the vehicle decelerated to approximately 15 MPH. There was no warning light illuminated. The contact stated that the vehicle passed the stop sign, and the contact manually turned off and parked the vehicle. The vehicle was towed to the dealer, where it was test-driven, but the failure could not be replicated. The contact was informed that no failure was found. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. ELECTRICAL SYSTEM
BRAKE FAILURE - SAFETY DEFECT RELEASED BY DEALER Brake pad warning light first appeared in February 2026. Dealer advised replacing rear brake pads. I chose to have the service performed at German Auto Care using original Maserati brake pads. Warning light continued intermittently after replacement. On 4/10/2026 during oil change service I informed dealer about ongoing brake pad warning light. Dealer repair order documented "8mm Pass" and returned vehicle. On 5/11/2026 manufacturer was emailed prior notice of unresolved brake safety defect and repair deadline. On 5/14/2026 manufacturer executive replied refusing assistance and claimed dealer did "full inspection" with "all fluids topped

LANE DEPARTURE: BLIND SPOT DETECTION
This complaint concerns a safety related recall issued by Maserati. I'm required to drive over 100 miles to the nearest authorized dealership to have the recall performed. No closer repair option, mobile repair, or alternative remedy was offered. Requiring this distance creates an unreasonable burden and discourages timely completion of a safety recall, potentially placing drivers at risk. Last year there was another re-call where I had to drive over 100 miles as well.

SERVICE BRAKES
While driving on the highway on 09/19/2025, my 2023 Maserati Grecale suddenly lost all electrical power. The battery failed without warning, and the vehicle became completely unresponsive, including loss of steering and braking functions. This created an extremely dangerous situation where I had no control over the car in the middle of a highway while driving at 55mph. This is a major safety defect. I no longer feel safe driving this vehicle and intend to return it. Immediate investigation is needed, as this failure could cause fatal accidents.

UNKNOWN OR OTHER
CAR KEEPS LOCKING ITSELF, SOMETIMES WITH THE KEYS INSIDE. It is available for inspection. This issue is a major problem as the driver can be left stranded or if there are young children or pets in the car. The dealer has confirmed the problem and has no solution. We have tried all the lock settings to no avail. No warning signals from the car; we bought the vehicle used as a demo with 10,000km. Problems began immediately.

SERVICE BRAKES
The car would not go into Park. The park button flickered, and a message appeared on the dashboard stating that the vehicle was too fast to be put into Park, even though the car was completely stopped in a parking lot with the brake pedal engaged. After multiple attempts to press the button and engage the parking gear without success, I turned off the car using the power button, which eventually allowed it to shift into Park. This situation is extremely dangerous. If the parking gear were to engage unexpectedly and hit any objects or people, the consequences could be catastrophic. I have reached out to Maserati with this concern, but it has taken an inordinate amount of time for them to

Where these numbers come from

A complaint is one owner's account and has not been verified by NHTSA or by us. A vehicle with more complaints is not necessarily worse: models that sold in larger numbers collect more of them. How this is counted.
