In owners' own words

Quoted from NHTSA's complaint file. These are unverified accounts by the people who filed them, not findings of fault.

UNKNOWN OR OTHER
The vehicle has experienced intermittent loss of power while driving at highway speeds on multiple occasions. The issue occurred twice on Monday and multiple times again on Tuesday. During these events, the vehicle felt as though it may stall or lose propulsion while traveling in traffic. The vehicle has also intermittently exhibited engine rattling and drivability concerns. In addition, the center display screen has blacked out intermittently, and the audio system has periodically failed to function. Because the loss-of-power issue is intermittent and occurs at highway speeds, I no longer consider the vehicle safe or reliable to operate. Family members won't drive or ride in the vehicle.

SERVICE BRAKES
Dear NHTSA, I would like to submit a safety complaint regarding my 2026 Volvo XC60 Ultra, purchased new and currently with approximately 5,939 miles. I am submitting this complaint because I have experienced repeated vehicle behaviors that I believe may have safety implications and have significantly affected my confidence in the vehicle. The concerns include: Brake behavior concern I have experienced inconsistent brake behavior during vehicle operation At times the brakes feel unusually sensitive At other times the vehicle feels less responsive than expected during braking The vehicle behavior has felt inconsistent and unpredictable Vehicle movement concern I have repeatedly noticed

VISIBILITY:GLASS, SIDE/REAR
The 2026 Volvo XC60 Ultra comes with hazy rear passenger windows, worse in full sun. These windows are laminated and tinted and are manufactured by Saint-Gobain Sekurit. The hazy rear passenger windows, especially the right one, decrease the driver's visibility and safety when checking the blind spots in traffic. Volvo should issue a recall of these defective windows and provide replacement transparent laminated glass for the rear passenger windows, allowing an unobstructed view for the driver. After contacting Volvo, they offered to replace these windows with tinted tempered glass, which is a downgrade from the laminated windows with noise dampening feature. Volvo is aware of this

TIRES:PRESSURE MONITORING AND REGULATING SYSTEMS
The car had no warning signs showing. We were on the highway and this was the longest trip we’ve taken in this car. We were at about 100 miles into the trip, we were at mile 115 on I-95 in [XXX] coming from [XXX] . Suddenly the rubber around the tire ripped off completely, the car started to slow in the middle of the highway. We pulled over to the right side of the road and found the tire completely blown out. The vehicle is currently being inspected by Volvo. The Volvo dealership is currently replacing the tire and we are paying full price out of pocket. We will be in touch with continental as soon as their office opens back up on Monday. Tire size 255/45 R 20 INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT

VISIBILITY/WIPER
Brand new 2026 Volvo XC60 Plus with factory tinting of rear passenger, side & hatch windows. Vehicle purchased from Serra Volvo in Traverse City Michigan. I discovered an issue with the rear passenger windows. Unlike the smaller rear side & hatch windows, rear passenger windows are cloudy even after a thorough cleaning.

VISIBILITY:WINDSHIELD
I have requested an appointment with my local Volvo dealership to investigate this problem with delamination of the windshield and All side/rear windows. The glass has developed a pervasive milky, cloudy, and fractured appearance. When driving in the direct sunlight or at night with oncoming headlights, the vision for the driver is distorted and causes a significant safety hazard. The vehicle is currently in pristine condition with fewer than 2000 miles when the problem was first identified. I have reported the problem to my local dealership along with Photos illustrating the problem and believe the windshield should be replaced since the vehicle is still under a full factory warranty. Where these numbers come from

A complaint is one owner's account and has not been verified by NHTSA or by us. A vehicle with more complaints is not necessarily worse: models that sold in larger numbers collect more of them. How this is counted.
