- The defect
- Mercedes-Benz USA, LLC (MBUSA) is recalling certain 2020 GLS 580 vehicles. The air bag control unit software may be programmed incorrectly, which can cause the driver's air bag to deploy improperly.
- What it can cause
- An air bag that does not deploy properly during a crash can increase the risk of injury.
- What the dealer does
- Dealers will replace the air bag control unit, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed on October 29, 2021. Owners may contact MBUSA customer service at 1-800-367-6372.
