- The defect
- Storyteller Overland, LLC (Storyteller) is recalling certain 2024-2026 GXV Hilt recreational vehicles. The entry door position switch may not make adequate contact to read that the door is closed, which allows the steps to deploy unexpectedly.
- What it can cause
- Steps extending while in transit increase the risk of a crash.
- What the dealer does
- Dealers will install a ground signal to the door switch circuit, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed April 29, 2026. Owners may contact Storyteller customer service at 1-888-999-7442.
The repair is free, whatever the age or mileage of the vehicle, and whether or not you are the original owner.
