The defect
Jaguar Land Rover North America, LLC (Land Rover) is recalling certain model year 2010-2015 LR2 and 2012-2013 Range Rover Evoque vehicles. A component within the Occupant Classification System (OCS) Electronic Control Unit (ECU) may fail, resulting in the front seat passenger air bag being totally or partially disabled.
The risk
In the event of a crash necessitating air bag deployment, if the air bag is disabled, the air bag may not deploy or may not deploy properly, increasing the risk of injury to the front seat passenger.
The remedy
Land Rover will notify owners, and dealers will update the Restraint Control Module software, free of charge. The recall began on August 30, 2014. Owners may contact Land Rover customer service at 1-800-637-6837. Land Rover's number for this recall is P046.

TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2014 LAND ROVER LR2. WHILE DRIVING 40 MPH, THE BRAKE AND ACCELERATOR PEDALS BECAME DIFFICULT TO DEPRESS. THE CONTACT PULLED THE VEHICLE OVER TO THE SIDE OF THE ROAD. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC AND IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE VACUUM PUMP MALFUNCTIONED AND NEEDED REPLACEMENT. FUEL/PROPULSION SYSTEM
My 2014 Land Rover LR2 HSE STARTED SMELLING STRONGLY OF FUEL IN LATE APRIL,2022. I contacted LAND ROVER NORTH AMERICA CUSTOMER RELATIONS ON 5/2/22 about the problem. Cris Willis opened Case# 8000998446 to assist me. He stated it was a recall issue awaiting parts to become active. Then on 6/15 Cris W. contacted me again requesting I make appt. with my local LR dealer and now they could inspect car and replace any defective parts. On 6/21 I messaged Cris that I had made appt. For 6/23. Cris messaged me back that Ft. Myers LR dealer would resolve issue with no problem at all. When I brought my car into service manager. He had my car inspected and found fuel sending unit cover was leaking and

The contact's parents own a 2014 Land Rover LR2. The contact stated upon parking the vehicle in the garage, her parents and herself noticed an abnormally strong gasoline odor inside the garage. The vehicle was taken to the dealer where it was diagnosed that the fuel outlet flange needed to be replaced. The dealer informed the contact that the vehicle could not repair NHTSA Campaign Number: 21V635000 (Fuel System, Gasoline) as the VIN was not included. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure and informed the contact that they could not assist as the VIN was not included in the recall. The failure mileage was approximately 55,000.

Transfer case failure due to seals leaking, resulting in oil leak and rendering the vehicle inoperable. Repairs estimated at $2,261-$7,500 by authorized Range Rover service center in Grand Rapids, MI.
