The defect
Porsche Cars North America, Inc. (Porsche) is recalling certain 2003-2020 Porsche Macan, Cayenne, Panamera, and Cayman S, 2001-2004 Boxster, Boxster S, 2004 Boxster 50 JAHRE SPYDER 550 vehicles. As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard number 108, "Lamps, Reflective Devices, and Associated Equipment."
The risk
Improperly adjusted headlights may not illuminate the road properly, or cause a glare to oncoming drivers, which can increase the risk of a crash.

Dealers will inspect the headlights for sealing caps and install missing caps as necessary, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed October 28, 2022. Owners may contact Porsche's customer service at 1-800-767-7243. Porsche's number for this recall is ANB4.

NHTSA complaint 11636428. Filed by an owner and not verified by NHTSA or by us.

AIR BAGS
Leather of the dashboard began to shrink on both driver and passenger sides. The shrunk leather exposed metal staples used to keep it in place and disfigured the passenger airbag compartment. An independent mechanic suggested that, in case of an accident, an airbag may not deploy correctly and the exposed staples may become a hazard. This appears to be a common problem of Porsche owners with leather dashboards.

Where these numbers come from

A complaint is one owner's account and has not been verified by NHTSA or by us. A vehicle with more complaints is not necessarily worse: models that sold in larger numbers collect more of them. How this is counted.
