The defect
Hyundai Motor America (Hyundai) is recalling certain 2015-2016 Genesis, 2017-2019 Genesis G80, Genesis G90, and 2019 Genesis G70 vehicles. Water may enter the starter solenoid and cause an electrical short, which can result in an engine compartment fire while parked or driving.
The risk
An engine compartment fire while parked or driving can increase the risk of injury.
The remedy
Owners are advised to park outside and away from structures until the recall repair is complete. Dealers will install a remedy relay kit in the engine junction box, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed July 15, 2024. Owners may contact Hyundai customer service at 1-855-371-9460. Hyundai's numbers for this recall are 254(H) and 018G(G).

The defect
Hyundai Motor America (Hyundai) is recalling certain 2015-2016 Genesis and 2017-2020 Genesis G80 vehicles. The Anti-Lock Brake System (ABS) module could malfunction and short circuit.
The risk
An electrical short circuit inside the ABS module could cause an engine compartment fire while parked or driving.
The remedy
Owners are advised to park outside and away from structures until the remedy is complete. Hyundai will notify owners, and dealers will replace the ABS module fuse, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed July 6, 2021. Owners can contact Hyundai customer service at 1-855-371-9460. Hyundai's numbers for this recall are 201 and 006G.

The Office of Defects Investigation (ODI) has received eight Hyundai Motor America (Hyundai) and eight Kia America, Inc. (Kia) Part 573 Recall Reports between 2016 and 2023. The combined 16 safety recalls all involve the antilock braking system (ABS) modules or Hydraulic Electronic Control Units (HECU) manufactured by the equipment supplier Mando. The Part 573 Recall Reports contain varying defect descriptions and differing remedy descriptions for the same or similar equipment supplied by Mando. Safety recalls included in this Audit Query (AQ) review include: Hyundai recalls 20V-520, 20V-543, 21V-161, 21V-160, 21V-303, 22V-056, 22V-810, and 23V-651. Kia recalls 16V-815, 20V-518, 20V-519, 21V-137, 21V-331, 22V-051, 22V-800, and 23V-652 The purpose of this AQ is to evaluate the timeliness and scoping of Hyundai and Kia’s defect decision making and adherence with reporting requirements; and understand the varying defect descriptions and remedies between these recalls.

I HEARD A LOUD POP AND TIRES WAS BLOWING WHILE DRIVING ON THE STREET LOSS CONTROL OF THE CAR AND INTO A DITCH

On May 9, 2023 @ 3pm. We were traveling at @60 mph when another vehicle pulled out in front of us. I hit brakes and swerved to miss the vehicle (which I did miss). I slid @ 350 feet, hit two divided highway medians/curbs and hit a concreted double legged (with at least 4 crossbars) stop sign with large solar panel and flashing lights. The front driver side of was crushed, the windshield and sunroof shattered as the solar panel and lights of the sign hit the car. The car was towed by the insurance company (Geico) and is awaiting their inspection. There was a police report/crash report created (Arkansas [XXX]) There were no warning lights or other indication of problems on the dashboard prior

TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2017 HYUNDAI GENESIS G80. WHILE DRIVING 55 MPH, THE CONTACT'S VEHICLE WAS INVOLVED IN A FRONT END COLLISION WITH ANOTHER VEHICLE. The contact owns a 2017 Genesis G80. The contact stated while driving 65 mph, there was a loud sound coming from underneath the vehicle. The vehicle loses motive power and power steering functionality. The contact manually steered the vehicle over to the side of the road. The contact attempted to restart the vehicle however, there was no electrical power present. The vehicle was towed to the nearest town and was inspected by the tow truck driver. The contact was informed that the battery terminals were not properly connected. The tow truck driver reconnected the battery and restarted the vehicle. POWER TRAIN
My 2017 Genesis G80 3.8L, VIN [XXX], has approximately 43,840 miles and intermittently slips or shifts improperly between approximately third and fifth gears while driving and causes harsh jolts forward. Jenkins Genesis confirmed the condition, stated that the transmission was slipping from the 3–5 clutch area, and recommended complete transmission replacement. The malfunction is unpredictable and creates a risk of sudden loss or interruption of propulsion while merging, crossing an intersection, changing lanes or driving at highway speed. WHEN YOU PRESS ON THE GAS ACCELERATOR- THE CAR ONLY MOVES AT A FEW MILES PER HOUR. THIS IS INTERMITTENT BUT MAKES THE CAR UNDRIVEABLE AND VERY DANGEROUS TO DRIVE IN TRAFFIC. THE THROTTLE BODY WAS REPLACED BUT NOW GENEIS SAYS IT IS ANOTHER ELECTRICAL ISSUE AND THE CAR NEEDS A NEW HARNESS- BUT GENSIS NO LONGER MAKES THIS PART (THE HARNESS) SO GENESIS EVEN UNDER MY WARRANTY CANNOT FIX THE CAR GENESIS SAYS IT IS A HARNESS ISSUE AND THEY DON'T HAVE AND CANNOT GET THE PART- HENCE THEY CANNOT FIX THE CAR

My oil light kept flashing on while driving until I come to complete stop. Had to take it to Genesis dealership in [XXX] Ms. They did a check on my vehicle and found the problem. I had to pay to replace these issues the sender assy-oil pressure & the harness-op sensor. The total bill was $1,012.14. Oil pressure light started to come on at idle, goes away while driving.. heard this has been and issue and even the dealership knows about it.. there is also a recall in Korea for the same exact thing for the same exact cars but no recall in the usa..please make this a recall it is not safe nor should this be over looked

ENGINE
While driving the engine simply stops and won't restart. When this happens, the key fob won't lock the car or unlock the trunk. The trunk opening button won't open the trunk. It just flashes the parking light and gives a sound.
