The defect
Forest River, Inc. (Forest River) is recalling certain 2019-2021 Cherokee recreational trailers. The shore cord inlet wiring insulation may not have been sufficiently stripped back, causing a poor connection with the set screw.
The risk
A poor electrical connection can increase the risk of a fire.
The remedy
Forest River will notify owners, and dealers will remove the inlet, and rewire or replace the inlet completely if necessary, free of charge. The recall began November 23, 2020. Owners may contact Forest River customer service at 1-260-499-2100. Forest River's number for this recall is 17D-1201.

The defect
Forest River, Inc. (Forest River) is recalling certain 2018-2020 Cascade and Cherokee travel trailers. The Gross Vehicle Weight Rating (GVWR) of the vehicle exceeds the GVWR of the trailer hitch coupler, potentially resulting in the coupler failing and the trailer detaching.
The risk
A trailer that detaches from the tow vehicle can increase the risk of a crash.
The remedy
Forest River will notify owners and dealers will replace the coupler, free of charge. The recall began February 17, 2020. Owners may contact Forest River customer service at 1-260-499-2100 or 1-541-995-3447. Forest River's number for this recall is 64-1114.

The defect
Forest River, Inc. (Forest River) is recalling certain 2019-2020 Cherokee trailers, model CKT294BH. The Federal Placard states incorrect Cargo Carrying Capacity (CCC) and Gross Vehicle Weight Rating (GVWR) information, which may result in the trailer being overloaded.
The risk
An operator may rely on the incorrect Placard information and overload the trailer causing a loss of control and increasing the risk of a crash.
The remedy
Forest River has notified owners, providing replacement placards that contain accurate Gross Vehicle Weight Rating and Cargo Carrying Capacity information, free of charge. The defect
Forest River, Inc. (Forest River) is recalling certain 2018-2019 Cherokee ACKT39CL and ACKT39RL travel trailers. The Federal Placard may have incorrect axle rating, cargo carrying capacity, and tire/wheel combination information.
The risk
Due to the incorrect Federal Placard, an operator may overload the vehicle, which may decrease vehicle stability and increase the risk of crash.
The remedy
Forest River will notify owners, and dealers will provide replacement placards that contain the accurate information, free of charge. The recall began May 28, 2019. Owners may contact Forest River customer service at 1-260-499-2100. Forest River's number for this recall is 17A-1012.

The defect
Forest River, Inc. (Forest River) is recalling certain 2019 Cherokee recreational trailers. The Federal Placards indicate incorrect tire size information of ST205/75R15, when the vehicles are actually equipped with ST225/75R15 tires. As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard (FMVSS) number 110, "Tire Selection and Rims." Additionally, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of 49 CFR Part 567, "Certification."
The risk
The incorrect information may cause an operator to install a tire that is insufficient for the vehicle, increasing the risk of crash.
The remedy
Forest River has notified owners and sent them a new Federal Placard that has correct tire size information, free of charge. The recall began February 25, 2019. Owners may contact Forest River customer service at 1-541-644-8072, extension 4022. Forest River's number for this recall is 64-0948.

The defect
Forest River, Inc. (Forest River) is recalling certain 2018-2019 Cherokee Alpha Wolf and 2019 Cherokee Arctic Wolf recreational trailers. The awnings may have been mounted with fasteners that are insufficient in length and/or quantity, possibly resulting in the awning arm detaching from the wall.
The risk
If the awning arm detaches, it can increase the risk of injury or a crash.
The remedy
Forest River will notify owners and dealers will inspect and replace with the correct fastener, free of charge. The recall began November 27, 2018. Owners may contact Forest River customer service at 1-260-499-2100. Forest River's number for this recall is 75-0867.

The contact owns a 2019 Forester River Cherokee Greywolf equipped with LionsHead Tires, Tire Line: Castle Rock ST226, Tire Size: 205/75/R14, DOT Number: 0418. The contact stated that while driving approximately 60 MPH, the passenger’s side rear tires experienced blowouts. The tires were replaced with the provided spare however, the spare tire also experienced a blowout two minutes later. The contact noticed that the tire was shredded in half. The vehicle was towed to an independent mechanic where all the tires was replaced. The manufacturer was notified of the failure but no additional assistance was provided. The approximate tire failure mileage was 700. The VIN was not available.

The contact owns a 2019 Forest River Cherokee. The contact stated while the RV was attached to a pickup truck, the cooktop range was being used and there was smoke coming from under the range. The contact opened the range door and the flames extinguished independently. The contact forwarded details to the manufacturer of the range, who diagnosed the failure with the front panel module. The oven equipment was not repaired or replaced.

Component failure: Winntec Model 6020 two stage propane regulator,I have regulator Regulator failed and has been recalled by many major RV manufacturers. Extreme fire hazard if regulator fails to perform and not regulate the amount of pressure coming from the propane tanks. Can result in extreme flames from appliances and cause fire that can endanger lives. Jayco has issued a recall NHTSA#21V-425TC#2021-367, Highland Ridge#21V-430TC#2021-369,StarcraftRV#21V-431TC#2021-368, and probably numerous other manufacturers. TIRES:TREAD/BELT
I was traveling ~65 mph towing my camper when one of the tires on the camper threw it's treads off, damaging my camper. I had my wife and two young children in my car coming home from a weekend camping trip. I have diligently tracked the mileage I've put on the camper tires and there are ~6810 miles on the tires which recently passed as part of my annual camper inspection. I also put RV tire covers on the tires when it is parked in my driveway for more than a week to keep the sun off of them and the camper gets stored in an underground mine over the winter. Resulting damage was not bad enough to keep me from driving it home, but I did have to call a tow company to help remove the tire and

The contact stated that the manufacturer had exceeded a reasonable amount of time for the recall repair. The contact first contacted an unknown dealer for the recall repair but was informed that a certified welder was not on-site to perform the recall repair. The contact then contacted a second dealer that was referred by the manufacturer but was informed by the dealer that they were busy and already had a waiting list of customers and were unable to assist.
