The defect
Toyota Motor Engineering & Manufacturing (Toyota) is recalling certain 2009-2015 Venza vehicles. The Supplemental Restraint System (SRS) wiring may become damaged with regular use of the driver-side door.
The risk
Damaged wires may cause the air bag sensor to become inoperable, preventing the deployment of the side and curtain air bags on the driver side and increasing the risk of injury during a crash.
The remedy
Dealers will inspect and, if necessary, replace the driver-side front door wire harness, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed October 19, 2021. Owners may contact Toyota customer service at 1-800-331-4331. Toyota's number for this recall is 21TB01/21TA01.

AIR BAGS
I received a safety recall notice (21TA01) from Toyota for non-deployment of airbags. I scheduled an appointment with Kendall Toyota in Eugene, Oregon. They called me and told me they had to keep my car overnight because they had to special order the part (part # 04001-0590T). The SRS Warning Check Airbag system has been flashing on my dashboard when I have a passenger in my car. The day I dropped the car off they sent me a text trying to add $2000+ in additional services of which I declined as my car only has 89k miles on it and these services were suggested before 125k miles. The next day I receive a text saying my car is ready for pick up. So I went and I picked up the car and the only

STEERING
The vehicle started to exhibit a popping or clunking sound in the steering Column after 125,000 miles. Was told it was not dangerous and continued to drive while albeit was still distracting. At 165,000, the sound became extremely loud at hwy speeds of 70-80mph and cause the steering wheel to shake and pull to the left. Took to mechanic who told me to take it to dealer. Where these numbers come from

A complaint is one owner's account and has not been verified by NHTSA or by us. A vehicle with more complaints is not necessarily worse: models that sold in larger numbers collect more of them. How this is counted.
