The risk
An inflator explosion may result in sharp metal fragments striking the driver or other occupants resulting in serious injury or death.
The remedy
Jaguar will notify owners, and dealers will replace the front passenger air bag assembly, free of charge. The recall began June 27, 2018. Owners may contact 1-800-452-4827. Jaguar's number for this recall is J072.

STRUCTURE:BODY

fire · towed · 36,000 miles

I WAS DRIVING DOWN THE HIGHWAY AND NOTICED MY CAR DID NOT WANT TO PULL WHEN I SPED UP. A FEW MORE MILES DOWN THE ROAD I NOTICED SMOKE COMING FROM MY TAIL PIPE AND THE MY AIR VENTS. SO I PULLED OVER, GOT OUT, AND WALKED AROUND TO THE FRONT OF THE CAR AND NOTICED WHAT LOOKED LIKE OIL ON THE SIDE OF MY CAR. BY THIS TIME FIRE STARTED COMING FROM UNDER THE HOOD. WITHIN MINUTES MY CAR WAS BLAZING AND A TOTAL LOSS. WHAT HAPPENED TO MY CAR? THAT'S WHAT I REALLY WANT TO KNOW. HOW DOES A 2015 JAGUAR WITH ONLY 36,000 CATCH AND FIRE AND BURN UP.

NHTSA complaint 11133135. Filed by an owner and not verified by NHTSA or by us.

NHTSA complaint 11680617. Filed by an owner and not verified by NHTSA or by us.

ENGINE
the engine stopped working. The dealer said a new was required since the engine no longer had enough compression in one cylinder. The car had only 83,000 miles. In talking with other repair shops, they said this is a common feature in many 2015 XFs.

NHTSA complaint 11460577. Filed by an owner and not verified by NHTSA or by us.

ENGINE
My vehicle has about 68k miles, I have always serviced the vehicle properly. While driving the car my steering locked up and my vehicle lost all power on a busy road with my children in the car. Luckily we are safe but this is very dangerous. I have had the car inspected by several certified and insured mechanics and the engine pulley broke off of my engine block causing my entire engine and steering to shut down. Every mechanic says this is not normal and should not have happened at this mileage or without a huge impact and they all agree it is a safety hazard especially since the car gave no waring of engine needing to be serviced.

NHTSA complaint 11434062. Filed by an owner and not verified by NHTSA or by us.

POWER TRAIN
I was pulling onto my street and my steering wheel locked. The car was still running and the message said battery not charging. I had never experienced this. I panicked and powered the car off in the middle of the street. I turned it back it i could move forward but the steering wheel was locked. I got the car towed. 3 times because only jaguar can fix the problem. It’s the crankshaft pulley. My issue is my car is a 2015. There was a recall on this part March 2016. It was fixed by the dealership June 2016. I purchased the car January 2017. How is it that this part has gone bad so fast. Also with this part being able to break down out of no where why isn’t some kind of dashboard warning?

Where these numbers come from

A complaint is one owner's account and has not been verified by NHTSA or by us. A vehicle with more complaints is not necessarily worse: models that sold in larger numbers collect more of them. How this is counted.
