FORWARD COLLISION AVOIDANCE: WARNINGS

1 injured · crash · towed

Two weeks before the accident, a warning message appeared on my car’s dashboard stating: “FORWARD COLLISION SYSTEM REDUCED.” Naturally, I was concerned. I immediately contacted the dealership, but they failed to return my call. I followed up a few days later, and they told me to bring the car in the next day. When I went in, I explained my serious concerns. They told me they would need to keep the vehicle for 3 to 4 days just to diagnose the issue and that no courtesy car would be provided during that time. I made it clear that I rely on my car for work and had no alternative. I even pointed out that the dashboard warning was a diagnosis in itself. I asked to speak with a manager and

purchased a brand new vehicle in 2022 Since purchase I have had multiple issues with said vehicle for which I will list. I understand vehicles will and can have issues but there is no excuse for all the problems I have had to deal with a new vehicle. A. Muffler has fallen off 3 times and replaced all 3 times During the leakage part of why it was not fully disconnected every time I was driving the car I was inhaling the fumes because the brake was under the seat of the car driver side B. Emergency Blinkers on dashboard had to be replaced because they overheated and melted C. The vehicle has 13,000 miles And now I am getting error messages that say the car needs to be put in park and won’t

FORWARD COLLISION AVOIDANCE: AUTOMATIC EMERGENCY BRAKING

crash · towed

On April 13, 2025, around 5:00 PM, while driving, a warning appeared on my dashboard: “Forward Collision System Reduced.” Not knowing the full meaning but understanding it could pose a safety risk, I immediately contacted the dealership the next day. I informed them it was urgent, but no one followed up. Days later, I called again and was told to bring the vehicle in. When I did, I asked about a rental vehicle (previously provided during another incident), but was told no rental would be offered until the car underwent diagnostics, which would take 3–4 business days. I explained I rely on this vehicle for work and couldn’t leave it that long without transportation. I was dismissed without

ELECTRICAL SYSTEM
When I shut off the engine, it says “Shift to park” and the car will not turn off. To get it to turn off, I have to turn the car back on (usually multiple times), until it recognizes that it IS in park.

ENGINE
I was driving down the highway when the 3 bolts holding the exhaust under the car broke off. My exhaust was dragging down the highway until I could safely get pulled over. The bolts are welded in of course so you can’t just put new bolts in you have to replace the whole catalytic converter, which is a pain to do unless you take it to the dealer and pay $2000.

ELECTRICAL SYSTEM
Shifter does not recognize its in park, from what I read this affects thousands. Why am I having to sit in my car for minutes at a time? is Chevy not required to handle the fixing of that switch. What a subpar design team they have. I just had to cough up over $800 to fix rusting because of shit wheel design that doesn't protect those components. Absolutely unacceptable to have consumers not only buy a car but then not issue a recall over the switch just inside the console I guess they want to con thousands to pay for a new shifter?

ELECTRICAL SYSTEM
The car showed an error message saying shift to park when trying to turn the car off. The car was in park and showed in park on the dashboard & shifter but the error message still said it wasn’t in park. While this error is showing it will not allow the car to shut off or lock doors. I have a little over 19k miles on this car and should not have this issue. After researching this has been a know issue with their vehicles for years and it still has not been addressed.

Where these numbers come from

A complaint is one owner's account and has not been verified by NHTSA or by us. A vehicle with more complaints is not necessarily worse: models that sold in larger numbers collect more of them. How this is counted.
