The defect
General Motors, LLC (GM) is recalling certain 2021-2022 Chevrolet Equinox and 2022 GMC Terrain vehicles. The fuel pump module may not consistently provide sufficient fuel to the engine, resulting in an engine stall.
The risk
An engine stall increases the risk of a crash.
The remedy
Dealers will replace the fuel pump module, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed June 5, 2023. Owners may contact Chevrolet customer service at 1-800-222-1020 or GMC customer service at 1-800-462-8782. GM's number for this recall is N222372310.

The defect
General Motors, LLC (GM) is recalling certain 2021-2022 Chevrolet Equinox and GMC Terrain vehicles equipped with certain Hankook tires. The tires may have been manufactured with an insufficient amount of curative agent, which could cause tread separation.
The risk
Tread separation can result in a loss of vehicle control, increasing the risk of a crash.
The remedy
Dealers will inspect the tire DOT numbers, and replace any affected tires, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed on August 31, 2021. Owners may contact GMC customer service at 1-800-462-8782; and Chevrolet customer service at 1-800-222-1020. GM's number for this recall is N212343560.

FUEL SYSTEM, GASOLINE

The contact owns a 2022 GMC Terrain. The contact stated while driving at approximately 60 MPH, the vehicle stalled. The contact stated no warning light was illuminated. The contact was unable to restart the vehicle. The vehicle was towed to a local dealer to be diagnosed. The dealer replaced the fuel pump module. The vehicle was repaired. The contact stated that the failure reoccurred while driving on the highway, and the vehicle was towed to another dealer. The dealer diagnosed the vehicle and determined that the fuel pump module had failed and needed to be replaced. The vehicle was repaired. FUEL/PROPULSION SYSTEM
While driving at approximately 55 mph, the vehicle suddenly stalled and would not accelerate. I was able to pull over onto the shoulder and turn the vehicle off. The engine would not turn over and the brake pedal locked into position, rendering the vehicle immobile. The check engine light also came on at this point. The vehicle was towed and ultimately repaired at the local GMC dealership, where the fuel pump was replaced. The 2022 GMC Terrain already has a recall in place due to the fuel pump module not providing sufficient fuel to the engine, resulting in an engine stall (23V013000), the effects of which sound very similar to what occurred. STEERING
I was driving the vehicle, approaching an intersection and making a right turn. As I turned the steering wheel, it locked. I kept trying to turn the steering wheel and it finally did. A Service ESC error appeared on the dashboard. The T/C light came on as well. I drove it home. The error was gone the next time I started the vehicle. The service code kept coming on intermittently. Appointment scheduled on 11/10/23. GMC service dept stated they wouldn't be checking the vehicle until next Monday, so I could take it home. I rescheduled and took it back on 11/13/23. My vehicle was there for 32 days. My safety was at risk because of the failure of the steering wheel to turn, with traffic in the

I had an issue with the All Wheel Drive system. The message Service all wheel drive system appeared as I was driving the vehicle. They found a rear differential module software issue 2810695. They found DTC C056D stored in rear diff control module. They programmed rear diff module and retested. Claim code is 1BYN199108119. I do not have any parts but I was told that they send warranty components back to the manufacturer for inspection.

STEERING
2nd incident, 1st incident reported: Complaint number 11570916. Was driving the vehicle and the steering wheel locked again as I was making a right turn. The service ESC light immediately came on with the T/C light on the dashboard as well. I had roadside assistance pick up the vehicle to take it to the service department because I was afraid to drive the vehicle. According to the service invoice, they were not able to replicate the problem, but I have a photo of the error code on the dashboard. I was told that they checked the brake module and reprogrammed the computers.

ENGINE

The contact owns a 2022 GMC Terrain. The contact stated that on four occasions while driving with the Adaptive Cruise Control function engaged, the vehicle shut off unintendedly. The Adaptive Cruise Control was set to 76 MPH and the vehicle decelerated to 34 MPH in several seconds. The contact stated that the steering wheel became inoperable. After several attempts, the vehicle restarted and drove at approximately 18 MPH. The contact stated that the vehicle entered Auto-Stop Mode. There were no warning lights illuminated.
