The defect
General Motors, LLC (GM) is recalling certain 2020-2023 Cadillac CT4 and CT5; 2021-2023 Buick Envision; and 2022-2023 Cadillac Escalade and Escalade ESV, Chevrolet Silverado 1500, Suburban, Tahoe, GMC Sierra 1500, Yukon, and Yukon XL vehicles. The daytime running lights (DRLs) may not deactivate when the headlights are on. As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard number 108, "Lamps, Reflective Devices, and Associated Equipment."
The risk
DRLs that do not deactivate as intended may result in a glare, reducing visibility, and increasing the risk of a crash.
The remedy
The body control module software will be updated by a dealer, or through an over-the-air (OTA) update, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed January 23, 2023. Owners may contact GMC customer service at 1-888-988-7267, Chevrolet customer service at 1-800-222-1020, or Cadillac customer service at 1-800-458-8006. GM's number for this recall is N222386380. This recall expands previous recall number 22V-827.

towed · 7,600 miles

The vehicle was towed to the dealer, where it was diagnosed with a fuel pump control module failure. The contact was informed that the fuel pump control module needed to be replaced. POWER TRAIN
On July 23, 2026, the transmission failed. I was driving for a weekend getaway (4.5 hrs from my home) and the transmission jerked extremely hard three times and I lost control of the car. I was driving through the mountains at 8pm. The RPM was in the red zone, even though my speed was fairly low. The car would not go into Park or Reverse. I took the car to HONOR GMC for diagnostic and they told me it cost $249 for the basic check. After the basic check, and not finding the solution, it would be an additional $2500 to drop the transmission for further inspection. Prior to this, there was no indication/warning light that the transmission was failing on a 3 year old car. The transmission on a

UNKNOWN OR OTHER
Onstar module out. Car can not be detected of location. Can not use gps. In the event of accident onstar can not help me this is a safety problem for a woman especially. When it first went out the car would not cut completely off had to disconnect battery. The gps light stays on with a line through it. Can’t use blue onstar button it’s completely out. Dealership says module needs to be changed. It has also affected other components of the car. I see this is a wide range problem. Dealer sell this as a safety component in the car but when asked about a recall they now want to state its its luxury.

POWER TRAIN
The transmission on the vehicle failed. It is available for inspection. The vehicle began jolting, when accelerating from a stop, or when slowing to a stop. Seemed to be slipping out of gear while driving. We reported the incident to the dealership. They said they found nothing wrong. The issue continued, and the check engine light came on, so we returned to the dealer again. This time they found it needed the transmission to be rebuilt. They have had the car at the service center for 5 months. The parts they need are no longer available.

FUEL/PROPULSION SYSTEM
Parked a running vehicle, 2023 Buick Envision with 52000 miles and when I went to start the car again, it would not run; cranked OK but would not start, just "stumbled" for a few seconds and then nothing. Tried several times thereafter to start to no avail. Called for a tow and learned that due to a not running vehicle that has electronic transmission, could not put it in neutral to allow a simple tow; tow driver had to put dolly on both front wheels and rear to tow to GM dealer. Original decision by service rep was that the fault was due to a bad fuel pump module. I called GM for any recall on this model and device only to hear that it was not a problem for them to present a recall. I am

ELECTRICAL SYSTEM
While driving in traffic, after changing lanes, the vehicle experienced a complete electrical shutdown without warning. The engine shut off, the dashboard went completely black, and hazard lights were not functional. There were no warning lights, messages, or audible alerts prior to the failure. The vehicle was in active traffic and, stopped without power steering or brake assist. After opening the hood, multiple wiring harnesses and a loose battery cable were visually observed. When wiring was physically moved, electrical power was immediately restored. Upon restart, the vehicle hesitated to start and then displayed messages instructing the driver to open and close the driver and passenger

Where these numbers come from

A complaint is one owner's account and has not been verified by NHTSA or by us. A vehicle with more complaints is not necessarily worse: models that sold in larger numbers collect more of them. How this is counted.
