26V415000 · June 30, 2026

The defect
Ford Motor Company (Ford) is recalling certain 2024-2027 Lincoln Nautilus Hybrid and 2025-2027 Explorer Hybrid vehicles. A software error may prevent the vehicle from making the pedestrian warning sound at certain speeds.
The risk
A vehicle that does not produce a warning sound may fail to alert pedestrians of an approaching vehicle, increasing the risk of injury.
The remedy
Note: This is an expansion of Recall 25V691. Any vehicles previously repaired under 25V691 must have the new remedy completed. Ford will release an over-the-air (OTA) update or dealers will update the APIM software, free of charge. Additionally, dealers will replace the digital signal processing module in Nautilus Hybrid vehicles equipped with 28 speakers, free of charge. This will be a phased campaign, with the remedy becoming available in different phases based on model and model years. Owner notification letters were mailed August 7, 2026. Owners may contact Ford customer service at 1-866-436-7332. Ford's number for this recall is 26S51. ELECTRICAL SYSTEM
Message the car sends "Remote features disabled to preserve battery" Your Nautilus has enter Deep Sleep to remedy the problem you much drive it. I drive my lincoln nautilus everyday and I get this message at least once a month. The car has completely died twice, no power, you can't even open the car doors nor trunk with key. You have to take the key apart and put it in a small hole on the door to open the car up. In March 2025 I was in NC for a funeral with my disabled Mom, we check out of the hotel, go to get in the car, completely dead, had to call a tow truck for a jump. August 2025, same thing the car completely died, had to call a tow truck to tow it to Ted Britt Lincoln Chantilly. The

UNKNOWN OR OTHER
While driving 60 + mph on the highway, the car turned off.it felt like someone turned the ignition off. Gas pedal was dead and i had to coast to a stop. The car popped up “Stop Safely Now”. We got it towed to dealership and they kept it for 2 weeeks. In spite of informing them about issue, they never acknowledged or fixed it and returned car to my home saying everything looks good. But it’s obviously not. I am clearly not driving it anymore as it might stopped working again and that time I might not be as lucky as last time. Driving this car without resolving this issue is death trap and it’s surely life threatening.

UNKNOWN OR OTHER
We haven’t had the car for a full year yet and already have now had our 3rd front windshield cracked! It’s either the glass is too fragile or the shape of it. I’ve never had this happen with any car ever! I’ve also read online several other car owners complaining of the same issue.

NHTSA complaint 11676496. Filed by an owner and not verified by NHTSA or by us.

UNKNOWN OR OTHER
The back-up camera is often very laggy, with slightly delayed video. Sometimes it also does not work and there is no video displayed on the main dashboard while reversing.

VEHICLE SPEED CONTROL
Lincoln Navigation has incorrect speed limit detection/programming on rural roads in Fulton County Ohio. When using the Adaptive Cruise, firstly the Speed Limit icon that is stationary on the dash, right in front of the driver, has incorrect speed limits. The speed limits icon also randomly goes from the incorrect speed of 45mpg, suddenly for no environmental reason, drops to 25 mph, then after a distance, goes back up to 45 mpg. The speed limits on all rural roads, other than municipalities, is 55 mph. While using the Adaptive Cruise, if someone is behind me, doing 55 mph that I've set my cruise to, and SUDDENLY I drop my speed to 25 or even 45 mph, there could most likely be a rear end

FORWARD COLLISION AVOIDANCE: ADAPTIVE CRUISE CONTROL
There is a safety concern with this car involving the feature that automatically slows down the car when a curve in the road is detected. This problem with the curve detection feature happens when the dynamic cruise control is engaged, with or without BlueCruise being active. At certain locations on the freeway, the car will aburptly brake, slowing the car by approximately 10 mph. When the abrupt slowdown occurs, the driver's display shows the icon for curve detection when there is no curve in the road. An abrupt reduction of speed on the freeway for no valid reason is a safety problem. This is not a random occurence. It happens every time I drive on I-80 eastbound at location: 41.545369,

Where these numbers come from

A complaint is one owner's account and has not been verified by NHTSA or by us. A vehicle with more complaints is not necessarily worse: models that sold in larger numbers collect more of them. How this is counted.
