The defect
Mercedes-Benz USA, LLC (MBUSA) is recalling certain 2024 GLE 350 4MATIC, 2025 GLE 450e 4MATIC, GLE 450 4MATIC Coupe, GLE 450 4MATIC, GLS 450 4MATIC, Maybach GLS 600 4MATIC, AMG GLE 53 4MATIC, AMG GLE 53 4MATIC Coupe, AMG GLE 63 S 4MATIC Coupe, and AMG GLS 63 4MATIC vehicles. The multi-purpose camera and the rearview mirror may be insufficiently attached to the windshield and may detach.
The risk
A detached mirror can reduce visibility for the driver. A detached camera can cause a loss of certain driving assistance systems, such as Active Lane Keeping Assist and Active Brake Assist. Either of these situations can increase the risk of a crash.
The remedy
Dealers will replace the windshield and reinstall the multi-purpose camera and rearview mirror, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed June 27, 2025. Owners may contact MBUSA customer service at 1-800-367-6372. MBUSA's number for this recall is 2025060001.

Make & Model: 2024 Mercedes-Benz GLE350 Complaint Details: My driver side and passenger side , both sun visor’s factory plastic pivot hinge snapped apart under regular operation. The plastic arm split into two fragments, rendering the sun visor unusable — it droops down constantly and blocks part of my forward driving vision, creating a safety hazard while driving. There was no accident, no heavy items hung on the visor, and no forced or rough manipulation to cause damage. The original OEM pivot component is made of low-strength thin plastic with no internal metal support. Prolonged exposure to high heat inside the car from outdoor parking accelerated plastic embrittlement, resulting in

VISIBILITY/WIPER
Windshield Wiper Collision & Breakage Issue Vehicle: 2024 Mercedes-Benz GLE350 While driving in heavy rain with the windshield wipers activated, the left and right wiper arms move at inconsistent speeds due to uneven friction on the windshield. The two wiper blades repeatedly crash into each other during every sweep cycle. Constant hard impact from the colliding wipers eventually snapped one of the wiper assemblies. This creates a severe safety hazard: broken wipers cannot clear rainwater from the windshield, leading to drastically reduced forward visibility while driving. This is not isolated damage from misuse, accident, or aftermarket wiper parts. Factory OEM wiper linkage, motor limit

ENGINE
On multiple occasions, the vehicle has unexpectedly lost acceleration while driving. Specifically, while traveling on the highway, the vehicle will suddenly drop speed and fail to respond when pressing the accelerator. This creates a dangerous situation, as I am unable to maintain speed with surrounding traffic, increasing the risk of a collision. This issue appears to occur without warning and significantly impacts the safe operation of the vehicle. A sudden loss of power on a high-speed roadway is extremely hazardous and poses a risk to both myself and other drivers.

Where these numbers come from

A complaint is one owner's account and has not been verified by NHTSA or by us. A vehicle with more complaints is not necessarily worse: models that sold in larger numbers collect more of them. How this is counted.
