SUSPENSION:FRONT:STABILIZER BAR

25V232000 · April 10, 2025

The defect
General Motors LLC (GM) is recalling certain 2023-2025 Cadillac LYRIQ vehicles. The left or right front stabilizer bar bracket bolts may have been improperly tightened, which can allow the bolts to loosen and separate from the vehicle frame. A detached stabilizer bar or bracket can damage the vehicle's high voltage cables or EV battery coolant lines.
The risk
Damaged cables or coolant lines can result in a vehicle shutdown, causing a loss of drive power and increasing the risk of a crash.
The remedy
Dealers will inspect and tighten the left and/or right stabilizer bar bracket bolts, as necessary, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed May 8, 2025. Owners may contact Cadilac customer service at 1-800-333-4223. GM's number for this recall is N252494190.

SERVICE BRAKES

2 injured · crash · towed

I was in a public parking lot and slowly approached a parking space in front of a store. When I applied the brakes to stop in the space, the car did not respond, it continued to drive forward, up the curb, crashed through the store front, and eventually came to rest mid-way in the store, amidst the furniture and store structure.

SERVICE BRAKES, HYDRAULIC

1 injured · crash · 10,000 miles

The contact owns a 2025 Cadillac Lyriq. The contact stated that while driving 5 MPH during dry weather conditions in traffic, the brake pedal was depressed but traveled down to the floorboard, and the vehicle failed to respond. The contact stood on the brake pedal; however, the vehicle failed to respond and crashed into the vehicle in front that had stopped due to traffic. In addition, the contact stated that the brake pedal jerked while it was depressed. No warning lights were illuminated, and the Crash Imminent Braking system failed. The driver-side and passenger-side air bags did not deploy. The contact suffered injuries to the back that did/did not require medical attention. No police

FUEL/PROPULSION SYSTEM

fire

Sudden Acceleration. -I was driving on a highway. I accelerated to pass a truck and when I took my foot off the accelerator the car continued to gain acceleration. The gas pedal had returned to a normal position but the car was still accelerating. I had to put full force on the brakes to get the car to stop. One of my passengers noted that there were flames around one of the brakes. I turned the car off and we waited approximately 45 minutes for the brakes to cool enough to proceed without further incident.

POWER TRAIN

crash

I did some online research and am concerned that the accident may have been caused by a safety issue reported on our 2025 model Cadillac Lyriq involving its One Pedal Driving (OPD) feature. We had tried using OPD when we first got the car and didn't like it and have not engaged it again over the past year. However, after an Over The Air update last week, the feature seems have been engaged by itself. I noticed it the evening before and needed to research how to disengage. In the mean time my wife had to go out before I was able to disengage it, and not realizing the issue was anything but undesirable she went out to an appointment and had an accident pulling into a parking spot at

STEERING
Stopped at the West Bound Thruway Seneca service area. After returning to the vehicle, multiple error messages were displayed on screen. "Have Power Steering Serviced, Service Stabilitrak, Service Headlamps, AWD Tempoarily Unavailable" Steering was the main issue. It was almost impossible to turn and steer. It was fortunate that it was after a stop and not while driving. The vehicle was towed to the dealer but it has yet to be determined why the steering failed.

NHTSA complaint 11743028. Filed by an owner and not verified by NHTSA or by us.

ELECTRICAL SYSTEM
OnStar system on the vehicle is busted. Because of this the accident detection no longer works and the GPS is stuck in no mans land which makes it impossible to use their app to figure out charging percentage, how far and route to take to the nearest charging station.

NHTSA complaint 11732073. Filed by an owner and not verified by NHTSA or by us.

ELECTRICAL SYSTEM
Car has been asleep after parking and will not wake up leaving all electrical components dead. GM has not been able to repair and unfortunately this has occurred 5 times including twice the month of March, 2026. Having a car parked in an unsafe location and not being able to move it very unsettling. After 30-60 minutes the car will start back up and operate normally.

VISIBILITY:SUN/MOON ROOF ASSEMBLY

6,000 miles

The contact owns a 2025 Cadillac Lyriq. The contact stated that after starting the vehicle, there was a cracking sound inside the vehicle. The contact looked up and saw that the moon roof glass was cracking. The contact stated that the crack had extended several feet. There was no impact on the moon roof glass to cause the glass to crack. The local dealer and manufacturer were notified of the failure, but no assistance was provided. The failure mileage was 6,000.

FUEL/PROPULSION SYSTEM
My car is equipped with a forward-facing camera, mounted on the forward area of the interior rearview mirror. Additional cameras are mounted on the front bumper, trunk door, and on the rearview mirrors on each side of the car. Various sensors mounted throughout both bumpers face the front, rear, and each side of the car. At the time of this incident all sensors and cameras were clean and free of obstructions, and software was up to date. I was driving uphill, negotiating a tight left curve at approximately 30 MPH in a rural, forested area in the Santa Cruz Mountains (California.) There were no other conveyances, objects, or obstruction on the roadway in front or behind me. The weather was

Where these numbers come from

A complaint is one owner's account and has not been verified by NHTSA or by us. A vehicle with more complaints is not necessarily worse: models that sold in larger numbers collect more of them. How this is counted.
