ELECTRICAL SYSTEM:PROPULSION SYSTEM:DC/DC CONVERTER

The defect
Jaguar Land Rover North America, LLC (Land Rover) is recalling certain 2019-2024 Land Rover Range Rover Sport, 2020-2024 Land Rover Range Rover Evoque, Land Rover Range Rover, Land Rover Discovery Sport, Land Rover Defender, 2021-2024 Land Rover Range Rover Velar, Jaguar E-Pace, F-Pace, and Land Rover Discovery vehicles. The DC-DC converter may malfunction due to an electrical overload that can occur during high power demand. Additionally, a software error can cause the DC-DC converter to stop functioning at vehicle start-up under certain circumstances. Failure of the DC-DC converter will result in the loss of 12-Volt system charging and can lead to complete loss of drive power and exterior lighting.
What it can cause
A loss of drive power increases the risk of a crash.
What the dealer does
Dealers will update the vehicle software, free of charge. Interim letters notifying owners of the safety risk are expected to be mailed November 13, 2026. Additional letters will be sent once the final remedy is available. Owners may contact Land Rover's customer service at 800-637-6837. Land Rover's number for this recall is E008. This recall expands previous NHTSA recall number 26V248.

The repair is free, whatever the age or mileage of the vehicle, and whether or not you are the original owner.

Which vehicles

A recall reaches a range of VINs inside these model years, not every car built in them. Yours may not be covered even if it is listed here, and the only way to find out is NHTSA's own VIN lookup.

How this campaign compares

At 23,677 vehicles this is a bigger campaign than 85% of the 19,823 vehicle recalls with a published size filed from 1995 up to this one. The middle campaign among them covers 472. It covers model years 2019 to 2024, so the oldest vehicles on it were 7 model years old when the defect was reported to NHTSA.

Jaguar vehicles have been recalled over the electrical system 17 times before this, most recently in April 2026 as 26V248000. That is not evidence the earlier repair failed.

This site holds the complaint record for 29 of the 42 model years the campaign names. Their owners have filed 636 complaints with NHTSA, 551 of them before this campaign was filed. 236 of those name the electrical system, the system this recall is about — a count of complaints, not of this defect. The earliest of them reached NHTSA in December 2018, 7 years before this filing.

The vehicles on this campaign carry 57 other recalls published here, the newest being: 26V615000 (seat belts), 26V613000 (structure), 26V458000 (back over prevention), 26V389000 (air bags).

A VIN check is the only answer for a specific vehicle, and it also shows every other open recall on it, which is usually the reason it is worth doing rather than reading one campaign.

Filed by Jaguar Land Rover North America, LLC with NHTSA on September 17, 2026 as campaign 26V599000. Every word of the defect, consequence and remedy above is NHTSA's published record of that filing, not a summary of it.
