ELECTRICAL SYSTEM

fire

On 2/17/2026 I was driving from my home to a fast food restaurant one mile away from my home. After picking up the food I dropped the food off about 3 miles down the road to my family member at their work and drove the 3.3 miles back from my family members work to my home. I arrived at my home and was walking into the house around 12:30 pm my car was off and locked. During my drive the car performed completely fine, there was no codes, no noises, no smells, the car drove how i would describe as intended. But at around 12:45 my neighbors were banging and ringing my doorbell to tell me that my car was on fire. I proceeded to escort my aunt and my grandmother out of the home as i watched my

POWER TRAIN
On XXX, I delivered my 2020 Genesis G70 3.3T AWD Prestige (64,267 miles) to Jenkins Genesis of [XXX], for routine factory-recommended maintenance, including transmission, transfer case, front differential, rear limited-slip differential (LSD), brake fluid, and cooling system services. Before this visit, the vehicle had no history of drivetrain problems. It had recently completed an approximately 8½-hour drive from [XXX] to [XXX], followed by three weeks of normal driving, without any binding, vibration, shuddering, abnormal turning characteristics, warning lights, or drivability concerns. The dealership retained the vehicle for four days for what was represented as a one-day service. On

FUEL/PROPULSION SYSTEM
My 2020 Genesis G70 is affected by Recall 24V-528 (high-pressure fuel pump defect). About 10 months after the recall service was marked “completed,” my car began showing DTC P0088 (Fuel Rail/System Pressure Too High), which is directly tied to the recall defect. On 8/30/25 car was hesitating when just slowly pulling out of driveway, and check engine light came on and stayed on. The car jerks and vibrates when foot is on the gas. There is now a very strong gasoline odor inside and outside the car, which was also noticed by a Genesis dealership employee when I pulled into the service garage. This raises serious fire and safety concerns. The dealer has told me the fuel pump and fuel line must

FUEL/PROPULSION SYSTEM
We have been trying to get a dealership to service our recall for months. We were told they don't do them at a few Genesis dealerships in the area and then one told they don't have the the parts and to check back with them and that was months ago and the still don't have what's needed. I am fearful for my family's safety and can't seem to get any assistance in getting this matter resolved. We visited the following dealerships: West Houston Hyundai Genesis 16803 Katy Fwy, Houston TX, 77094 Genesis of Spring 20440 Interstate 45, Spring TX, 77373 We called via phone the following dealership: (and was told they don't service Genesis) Sterling Mccall Hyundai 10301 Southwest Fwy, Houston TX, 77074

UNKNOWN OR OTHER
Vehicle's high pressure fuel pump malfunctioned while driving causing the car's speed to decrease erratically causing a safety risk. The local Genesis dealer acknowledges that the high pressure fuel pump needs to be replaced and is the subject of a recall, but is requiring me to pay for the repair despite the recall notice stating that: ". . . THE HIGH-PRESSURE FUEL PUMP WILL ALSO BE REPLACED. THIS REMEDY WILL BE OFFERED AT NO COST TO OWNERS FOR ALL AFFECTED VEHICLES, REGARDLESS OF WHETHER THE AFFECTED VEHICLES ARE STILL COVERED UNDER HYUNDAI/GENESIS NEW VEHICLE LIMITED WARRANTY."

Where these numbers come from

A complaint is one owner's account and has not been verified by NHTSA or by us. A vehicle with more complaints is not necessarily worse: models that sold in larger numbers collect more of them. How this is counted.
