The defect
Southeast Toyota Distributors, LLC (SET) is recalling certain 2017-2019 Toyota Camry, Corolla, Rav4, Sienna, and Yaris iA vehicles equipped with factory-installed floor mats. The load carrying capacity modification label may be incorrect. As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard (FMVSS) number 110, "Tire Selection and Rims."
The risk
An incorrect label may lead to unintentionally overloading the vehicle, increasing the risk of a crash.
The remedy
SET will notify owners and provide a corrected label for placement over the inaccurate label, free of charge. The recall began August 23, 2019. Owners may contact Toyota customer service at 1-888-270-9371. SET's number for this recall is SET19A.

The defect
Gulf States Toyota, Inc. (Gulf States) is recalling certain 2017 4Runner , 86, Avalon, Camry, Camry Hybrid, Corolla, Corolla iM, Highlander, Highlander Hybrid, Prius, Prius C, RAV4, RAV4 Hybrid, Sienna and Yaris vehicles. The spare tire air pressure was not adjusted to the proper pressure as stated on the Tire Pressure Label.
The risk
A spare tire that is not inflated to the proper value may not perform as intended, increasing the risk of a crash.
The remedy
Gulf States will notify owners, and dealers will inspect the spare tires, adjusting their pressure as necessary, free of charge. The recall began June 15, 2017. Owners may contact Gulf States customer service at 1-800-444-1074. Toyota's number for this recall is 17R2.

AIR BAGS:KNEE BOLSTER

The defect
Toyota Motor Engineering & Manufacturing (Toyota) is recalling certain model year 2016 Avalon, and 2017 Camry vehicles manufactured August 3, 2016, to September 12, 2016. The front passenger knee air bag module may have been attached to the lower instrument panel with incorrect fasteners.
The risk
If the air bag was installed with incorrect fasteners, the fasteners may become loose over time, affecting the air bag deployment and increasing the risk of injury.
The remedy
Toyota will notify owners, and dealers will inspect the fasteners, and if necessary, replace the instrument panel brace and body bracket and reattach the air bag assembly, free of charge. The recall began on February 8, 2017. Owners may contact Toyota customer service at 1-800-331-4331. Toyota's number for this recall is G05.

I WAS DRIVING IN THE HOV LANE ON THE 170 AT 6:30PM. 2/7/2020. THERE WAS A SUDDEN WHITE FLASH AND EXPLOSION. ALL OF THE AIRBAGS DEPLOYED. I COULD NOT SEE WHERE I WAS GOING. ALL I COULD SEE WAS OUT MY REAR WINDOW. I TRIED TO STEER THE CAR TO THE SIDE OF THE FREEWAY BUT IT STOPPED IN THE FAST LANE. ALL I COULD SEE WHERE CARS SWERVING TO MISS US. I DIDN'T KNOW IF MY HAZARDS COULD BE SEEN AS I COULDN'T SEE MY INSTRUMENT PANEL. SO I PUMPED THE BRAKES HOPING THE LIGHTS WERE WORKING AND THE CARS COMING COULD SEE THEM. Vehicle was involved in accident on 08/22/2021. The speed was 55-60 mph . The vehicle in front, a 2014 Chevrolet 4wd full size pick up changed lanes (left to right) clipping the left front of the Toyota & slammed on brakes. The Toyota went under the bumper & right rear fender of the truck. The damage to the Toyota included the ECU, ABS & brake components, wiring harness & fuse/relay blocks, & all of the sheet metal, bumper, A/C,etc. Insurance company opted to repair the vehicle (cost is now approaching $18,000). Odometer Fraud. The contact owns a 2017 Toyota Camry, which was purchased via Facebook Marketplace. Shortly after purchase, the Check Engine warning light illuminated, leading the contact to replace the catalytic converter. Upon using a diagnostic code reader, the contact discovered that the estimated value of the vehicle was significantly less than the actual cost that was paid for the vehicle. The contact purchased the Carfax report which revealed that the actual mileage on the vehicle was 297,000; not the 107,000 shown on the instrument panel. Tire size is 205 65R16 I purchased two Westlake Tires from Advanced Tire in Missouri from installation on my 2017 Toyota Camry LE. After installation, I experienced abnormal vibration and tire related concerns. On March 30, 2026, the Vehicle was inspected by Discount Tire. Discount Tire determined that one of the Westlake Tires was separating and unsafe for continued operation, Due to the safety concern, Discount Tire provided a loaner tire until replacement tires could be installed. we have had multiple issues with this car since 70,000 miles. engine burning oil, no fix besides replacing it or keep adding oil. now check engine and check stability control system light are on. took to o'reilley to run codes and it threw all kinds of transmission codes.

purchased a 2017 Toyota Camry from CarMax in Ontario, CA, with a $12,000 down payment. I chose this vehicle for its reliability and fuel efficiency. After the first week, I noticed poor gas mileage—only 17 mpg. CarMax checked it but found no issues. On September 25th, 2024, I purchased another 2017 Camry with 81,000 miles. After a short test drive, I noted squeaky brakes, a burned-out headlight, and a small windshield chip. CarMax replaced the bulb and promised to address the brakes and chip. Four (4) General Tire Reliatrek P205/65R16 95H were purchased on August 6, 2024 at Toyota Greenville located in Greenville, South Carolina, with mileage on my car at 138,174. At my last service in late December 2025, with 175, 777 miles on my car, i was told by Toyota Greenville that two of them needed replaced, with the others marginal. It was recommended by Toyota to have all four replaced. The promised warranty of these tires was 65,000 miles. I only put 37,603 miles on these tires, indicating severe premature wear and manufacturer defect. ENGINE
Catastrophic engine failure due to piston pin bushings/connecting rod bushing failing. The engine was removed, disassembled, and inspected by an automotive machinist. There were no warning lamps or messages, only a knocking sound. The Toyota dealership said there was severe knocking from lower engine, and their remedy was a new engine.
