SERVICE BRAKES

crash · towed

I was going under 30 mph on a regular road. Avoiding a collision, one of the front wheels locked causing the vehicle to flip.

NHTSA complaint 11562137. Filed by an owner and not verified by NHTSA or by us.

EXTERIOR LIGHTING
Passenger low beam led stopped functioning at 39k, with no warning light of it ceasing to function. Safety of passengers and driver were at risk. Went through diagnostics at dealership, diagnosed to need a complete headlight assembly replacement. Was told by Porsche dealership as well as independent shops that this is a “known problem” with these Macan headlights. Did the replacement and 2k miles later, same issue presents. Blinker works, high beam works, running light works. Low beam non functional.

NHTSA complaint 11752745. Filed by an owner and not verified by NHTSA or by us.

EXTERIOR LIGHTING
Component/System: Exterior lighting — right front low beam headlight. Vehicle is available for inspection upon request. 2019 model year vehicle has 65,000 miles Safety risk: The right low beam headlight failed, reducing forward visibility on the right side during nighttime driving and in low-visibility conditions. This creates risk of failing to see pedestrians, road hazards, or lane markings, and may cause oncoming drivers or law enforcement to misidentify the vehicle as a motorcycle. Dealer/service confirmation: Failure has not yet been confirmed by a dealer. Manufacturer/other inspection: No additional inspections conducted. Prior warning symptoms: No warning lamp or dashboard message

EXTERIOR LIGHTING
Headlight on the passenger side. Very common for this year and model Porsche. We took the car to a carwash. We entered with both headlights working. We went straight home and as we pulled into the garage we saw that the passenger side headlight wasn't working. There was no indication on the dashboard or warning that the headlight was out. I had to drive home in the dark in unsafe conditions with only 1 headlight and I wasn't aware that I had only 1 headlight. Roads were dark other cars didn't realize that it was a car with 1 headlight and not a motorcycle. We looked up information about the headlight and learned that it is very common and it is a mechanical failure of Porsche that has not

EXTERIOR LIGHTING
I have an accident-free 2019 Macan S with 40k miles. Recently my passenger side headlight went out, so I took it to the auto repair shop I use (they specialize in German cars). The passenger side light assembly has been deemed faulty, and I am still driving without a headlight -- concerning for safety reasons as well as for possible ticketing. After reading online, I see many Macan/Cayenne owners share the same light assembly issue - 2019+ cars in the 35k-50k mileage range. The quote for the new assembly is $5200. This is a known issue that is not the result of normal wear and tear.

Where these numbers come from

A complaint is one owner's account and has not been verified by NHTSA or by us. A vehicle with more complaints is not necessarily worse: models that sold in larger numbers collect more of them. How this is counted.
