UNKNOWN OR OTHER

1 injured

The lift gate on my vehicle closed suddenly and for no apparent reason as I was loading groceries into the vehicle. The lift gate hit me in the back of the head and did NOT retract/open upon contact. I had to quickly lift the lift gate with both hands to get out of the way and press the button for the lift gate to open. A couple of minutes later, the lift gate again closed suddenly and for no apparent reason; however, I was not hurt the second time and was able to move out of the way and press the button to stop/open the lift gate.

Stick on After market steering wheel emblem (Chevrolet) became dislodged when air bag deployed during accident, hit my daughter in chest then richoched off then stuck into driver side door panel approximately 1/2 inch (like shrapnel) very lucky this emblem did not penetrate her body as it could have been fatal.

ELECTRICAL SYSTEM
My 2022 Chevrolet Blazer abruptly Shut down all power for about five seconds while I was stopped at a red light. The vehicle restarted after I pressed the push-button ignition, but the dashboard displayed a brake system error warning with no explanation of the cause or instructions for next steps. No other warning lights preceded the shutdown. The vehicle appeared to resume normal operation after restart, but the brake system warning remained. This appears consistent with complaints filed by other 2022 Blazer owners describing simultaneous electrical and brake system failures.

NHTSA complaint 11757049. Filed by an owner and not verified by NHTSA or by us.

SERVICE BRAKES
Intermittent electrical defects are beginning to occur that impact the power steering or power brakes. After starting the vehicle, there are times either the power steering or the power brakes do not function. When the braking defect occurs, the engine warning lamp is displayed and indicates brake system control module. Sudden switch to manual steering or manual braking are a safety hazard. A couple ignition recycles eventually corrects the electrical defect and restores the vehicle to normal operations. Vehicle has been dropped off at dealership for warranty repair.

ELECTRICAL SYSTEM
My infotainment system has completely blacked out. I have no navigation, no rear view camera or warning signals. I have no phone and no SOS 🆘 emergency calls. I have no music no lane merging alerts. My charging station does not work in the front of the vehicle.

POWER TRAIN
I have been smelling engine coolant for some time and found a leak on the drivers side top seam where the aluminum meets the plastic tank on the radiator. This is a known problem with 2019=2026 Chevy Blazers by GM and it still hasn't been resolved. After researching, I have found numerous Blazer owners that have this same issue and some are on 3rd and 4th radiator replacement. I am afraid to drive the vehicle due to the leak that could leave me and my family stranded on the side of the road. I am also concerned about a major leak or seam separation that could allow a large amount of coolant out that could get on the tires and cause loss of vehicle control as a result. Also, the leaking

ENGINE AND ENGINE COOLING

49,500 miles

The contact owns a 2022 Chevrolet Blazer. The contact stated that the coolant was leaking from the radiator. There were no warning lights illuminated. The vehicle was taken to the local dealer, where it was diagnosed and determined that the radiator needed to be replaced. The contact was informed that the dealer was replacing a lot of radiators for similar failures. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was contacted, and a case was opened. The failure mileage was approximately 49,500.

FUEL/PROPULSION SYSTEM
Car stalled and told me to put in neutral. Could smell gas. Car wouldn't come back on. Code u18a2 (lost communication with fuel pump communication module), part is available for inspection, we were all at risk due to the car stalling on the highway with no prior warnings, check engine light came on after car stalled, ordered new part from GMC, fix the issue right away. This part has been recalled on other models just not on 2022.

Where these numbers come from

A complaint is one owner's account and has not been verified by NHTSA or by us. A vehicle with more complaints is not necessarily worse: models that sold in larger numbers collect more of them. How this is counted.
