STRUCTURE:BODY
The panoramic sunroof exploded upwards and outwards while driving under normal conditions. It created an extremely loud and startling sound that left the driver and passenger stunned. We were fortunate there was not an immediate oncoming vehicle as we likely would have struck head on. Shortly after the explosion, tiny shards of glass began to fall into the passenger area. We were also fortunate to be able to get the vehicle safely off the road. The vehicle was brought to the dealership and the manufacturer was called. They are all pretending they have never heard of something like that happening when a quick search reveals this is a known manufacturing defect with a class action lawsuit

It was diagnosed by the dealership and determined that the cylinder head was damaged and needed to be replaced for $7200.00 since there was no warranty. Vehicle was purchased used and the Issue was noticed 6 months after purchase at 70-80 thousand miles. After researching the issue, this appears to be a known problem with the 4 cylinder Mercedes vehicles, but only specific models were covered under the extended warranty for replacement.

FUEL/PROPULSION SYSTEM
Nov. 7, 2025 - After returning home around 4pm, I parked the car in my garage, and entered my home. Due to the sound of the fan motor which stays on after you shut off the car, it is possible that the engine was still running when I thought it was off. Please note that my garage is attached to my home. Around 1am I awoke and went into the bedroom on the far side of my home which sits directly above my garage. When I entered this room I heard a noise, like some kind of motor but at the time I had no idea what this was. As I walked through my home, went downstairs and neared the doorway to my garage when I realized the loud noise was coming from my garage. It was not only frightening but

Where these numbers come from

A complaint is one owner's account and has not been verified by NHTSA or by us. A vehicle with more complaints is not necessarily worse: models that sold in larger numbers collect more of them. How this is counted.
