26V262000 · April 23, 2026

The defect
Chrysler (FCA US, LLC) is recalling certain 2024-2025 Jeep Wagoneer S and Dodge Charger electric vehicles. A software error may cause the instrument panel display to fail. The risk
An instrument panel display that fails to show critical safety information, such as gear selection and warning lights, increases the risk of a crash.
The remedy
Dealers will update the instrument panel software, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed May 14, 2026. Owners may contact FCA customer service at 1-800-853-1403. ELECTRICAL SYSTEM

towed · 1,000 miles

The contact owns a 2025 Jeep Wagoneer S. The contact stated that while driving approximately 25 MPH, the vehicle failed to accelerate and stalled. An unknown service warning light was illuminated. The contact pulled over to the side of the road, turned off the vehicle and the vehicle was able to be restarted. On another occasion, while the vehicle was parked at the residence, the vehicle lost power, and the contact was locked inside the vehicle and was unable to open the doors. The vehicle was towed to a dealer, where it was diagnosed and it was determined that a software update was needed. The software update was completed; however, the failure persisted. The manufacturer was notified of

ELECTRICAL SYSTEM
The vehicle is unsafe; it freezes while driving leaving one unable to navigate in any way. Everything ceases at once - nothing works, you can't put it into P/D/R/N, it won't accellerate or turn off. It just freezes, won't drive, won't turn off, completely locks up either while parked (the safer version) or while driving (completely unsafe, imagine being in a moving vehicle with no control at all?). Please don't ignore this - look at social media where hundreds, if not thousands of people are reporting the same exact event. It has happened to me alone 3x. Jeep claims they have no fix for it yet they aren't recalling the vehicle which is reckless. Please make them accountable and keep our

FORWARD COLLISION AVOIDANCE: ADAPTIVE CRUISE CONTROL
I leased a new 2025 Jeep Wagoneer S (electric) on 11/10/2025. Since taking delivery, the vehicle has repeatedly and unpredictably disabled critical driver-assistance and safety systems while in motion, and has on multiple occasions warned that it would shut down while driving. Specific safety-related incidents: On multiple occasions, the vehicle's forward collision warning, adaptive cruise control, lane assist, and Auto Hold have all intermittently and simultaneously disabled themselves while driving, with no warning and no ability to re-enable them except by fully powering the vehicle off and on, or disconnecting the 12V battery. This has occurred repeatedly since November 2025 and

WHEELS
Bought car brand new had it two weeks and the tire kept loosing air. Had tire checked nothing wrong with tire had tire company come to house took tire off and rim was cracked Jeep would not pay for repair. Had to buy a new rim There is a current recall on Cherokee and gladiator with same issue

NHTSA complaint 11753872. Filed by an owner and not verified by NHTSA or by us.

ELECTRICAL SYSTEM
When driving the vehicle the on board screen randomly shuts down and restarts while in motion. During this process it changes all of the driving settings and turns off the automatic braking, and the vehicle accelerates with out touching the accelerator. This has happened numerous times and it has been to the dealership 4 times with out any changes.

NHTSA complaint 11752779. Filed by an owner and not verified by NHTSA or by us.

SERVICE BRAKES
I recently purchased this vehicle and had possession of it for only three days before it developed a serious braking-related issue. While driving, the ABS warning light illuminated, indicating that the anti-lock braking system required service. At the same time, the vehicle became noticeably more difficult to stop, requiring increased braking distance and significantly earlier brake application than normal. The failed component is currently at the dealership and is available for inspection. The illuminated ABS warning also disabled several advanced driver assistance features, including the collision avoidance and automatic emergency braking systems. As a result, important safety features

SERVICE BRAKES
The vehicle's automatic emergency braking (AEB) / forward collision avoidance system activates without cause and brings the vehicle to a sudden, complete stop in the middle of an intersection. This has occurred on at least two occasions. In each instance I was making a left turn at a four-way intersection while an oncoming vehicle was also turning left — a common, non-conflicting turn geometry. The system falsely interpreted the opposing left-turning vehicle as an imminent frontal collision, displayed a "crash detected" message, and applied full braking, stopping my vehicle in live cross-traffic in the middle of the intersection. The first occurrence was on XXX, at the intersection of

Where these numbers come from

A complaint is one owner's account and has not been verified by NHTSA or by us. A vehicle with more complaints is not necessarily worse: models that sold in larger numbers collect more of them. How this is counted.
