AIR BAGS

1 injured

The side airbags went off while driving with no impact. Driver sustained minor cuts and bruises from seat and curtain airbag. The vehicle shut off and automatically began calling the police. The vehicle was inspected by the RAM dealer and they refused to repair the vehicle stating that the vehicle detected a rollover (This did not happen). The insurance company found that the truck's airbag system was defective and required replacement of the faulty impact sensors. There were no warning lamps prior to the incident.

NHTSA complaint 11695812. Filed by an owner and not verified by NHTSA or by us.

AIR BAGS

1 injured

Front Airbags deployed without collision. Vehicle shut off and called police. Driver got severe laceration on face from driver airbag projectile. Vehicle was brought to RAM dealer and they recommended replacing all airbag components including ORC. The ORC did not have stored collision data. Attempted to open case with RAM/stellantis but they closed the case without investigating. THIS IS THE SECOND DEPLOYMENT WITHOUT A COLLISION.

FUEL/PROPULSION SYSTEM

fire

As I was driving at 55mph on the hwy I started smelling gas. I thought it was the car in front of me so I was just going to pass him, but quickly realized I did not have the power to pass another car. So I pulled over on the highway and got out of my truck and noticed flames dripping from the center of the vehicle by looking at the front driver wheel area. I tried to put out with a fire extinguisher that a bystander had given me, but it was just too late in the truck was engulfed in flames.

ELECTRICAL SYSTEM
On October 12, 2025, while on the highway, the CEL started blinking and the truck began misfire and shutter. I was able to get to the side of the road where I discovered the truck would idle but would barely move. It was towed to the closest dealership where they attempted to reflash the PCM and ISCM which is associated with Stellantis TSB 08-31025 REV. B. The PCM was flashed but the ISCM needed to be replaced. This was successful for another 9,484 miles where the issue repeated which, I will create another incident for.

NHTSA complaint 11757099. Filed by an owner and not verified by NHTSA or by us.

ELECTRICAL SYSTEM
On June 29, 2025, the CEL started blinking and the truck started shuttering. I was able to pull over to the side of the road where I discovered the truck would idle but not move without stalling. I then had the vehicle towed to the nearest dealership. Upon receiving the vehicle, the dealership diagnosed a short in the wiring harness. Once the wiring harness replaced, it was discovered that the wiring harness short took out the ISCM which was then replaced, for a second time.

ELECTRICAL SYSTEM
I've tried to get my local dealer to repair my vehicles recall and no matter how many times I visit, they tell me there is a waiting list with 12 people in front of me and they can only get 1 part per week. So I wait 4 months and again there is 12 people in front of me for repairs. Benoit Motors, Rosepine, LA 70634

VISIBILITY/WIPER
The outside ambient temperature sensor on my 2025 Ram 1500 is fundamentally flawed by design, routinely reading 10 to 15 degrees Fahrenheit hotter than the actual external temperature due to solar soaking inside the driver-side mirror housing. While this appears to be a convenience issue, it creates a direct driver safety hazard. Because this sensor feeds critical ambient data to the vehicle's computer modules, its extreme inaccuracy directly disrupts the automated climate control safety systems. During near-freezing or sudden inclement weather conditions, the vehicle's automated windshield defroster, cabin defogger, and heated side-view mirrors fail to automatically trigger or adjust

Where these numbers come from

A complaint is one owner's account and has not been verified by NHTSA or by us. A vehicle with more complaints is not necessarily worse: models that sold in larger numbers collect more of them. How this is counted.
