The defect
Honda (American Honda Motor Co.) is recalling certain 2007-2011 CR-V vehicles that were sold, or ever registered in Connecticut, Delaware, Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Kentucky, Maine, Maryland, Massachusetts, Michigan, Minnesota, Missouri, New Hampshire, New Jersey, New York, Ohio, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island, Vermont, Virginia, West Virginia, Washington D.C., and Wisconsin. An accumulation of road salt may cause the frame to corrode and possibly detach the rear trailing arm.
The risk
A detached rear trailing arm can cause a loss of vehicle control, increasing the risk of a crash.
The remedy
Dealers will inspect and install a support brace or repair the rear frame, as necessary, free of charge. Depending on the extent of any corrosion damage, Honda may offer to repurchase the vehicle. The front passenger air bag inflator may have been installed incorrectly during replacement.
The risk
An incorrectly installed air bag inflator may not properly deploy the passenger frontal air bag in the event of a crash, increasing the risk of injury.
The remedy
Honda will notify owners, and dealers will inspect the inflator installation and, if necessary, replace the passenger frontal air bag module assembly, free of charge. The recall began July 5, 2019. Honda (American Honda Motor Co.) is recalling specific 2003 Acura 3.2CL, 2013-2016 ILX, 2013-2014 ILX Hybrid, 2003-2006 MDX, 2007-2016 RDX, 2002-2003 3.2TL, 2004-2006, and 2009-2014 TL, 2010-2013 ZDX and 2001-2007 and 2009 Honda Accord, 2001-2005 Civic, 2003-2005 Civic Hybrid, 2001-2005 Civic GX NGV, 2002-2007 and 2010-2011 CR-V, 2003-2011 Element, 2007 Fit, 2002-2004 Odyssey, 2003-2008 Pilot, and 2006-2014 Ridgeline vehicles. The affected vehicles received a replacement driver air bag inflator as part of a previous Takata inflator recall remedy or a replacement driver air bag module containing the same inflator type as a service part. Due to a manufacturing error, in the event of a crash necessitating deployment of the driver frontal air bag, these inflators may explode.
The risk
An explosion of an inflator within the driver frontal air bag module may result in sharp metal fragments striking the driver, front seat passenger or other occupants resulting in serious injury or death.
The remedy
Honda will notify owners, and dealers will replace the driver's air bag inflator with an alternate inflator, free of charge. The recall began April 10, 2019. I WAS PULLING OUT OF PARKING SPOT IN REVERSE IN A CROWDED MOVIE THEATER PARKING LOT WHEN MY 2011 HONDA CR-V ACCELERATED AT FULL SPEED INTO THE CEMENT POLE BEHIND ME. CONFUSED, I PUT THE CAR IN 'DRIVE' TO PULL MYSELF AWAY FROM THE POLE, WHEN THE CAR ONCE AGAIN ACCELERATED AT FULL SPEED FORWARD TOWARD THE SPOT I WAS ORIGINAL IN HITTING AND CONTINUALLY PUSHING A PARKED MINI-VAN, WHICH IN TURN PUSHED AND KEPT PUSHING THE PARKED CAR NEXT TO IT. IN AN ATTEMPT TO STOP THE CAR, I PUT THE CAR IN REVERSE AND ONCE AGAIN WENT IN REVERSE, CRASHING INTO THE SAME CEMENT POLE. DESPITE THE FACT THAT I BORE DOWN ON THE BRAKES REPEATEDLY, THE CAR DID NOT STOP UNTIL I PUT THE CAR IN 'PARK". IMMEDIATELY

The contact owns a 2011 Honda CR-V. The contact stated that while driving at 65 mph in inclement weather, the vehicle slid on ice and collided with a steel pole, breaking the pole. The contact was unsure if there were warning lights illuminated. The impact of the crash was on the driver's side, and the rear of the vehicle. The air bags failed to deploy. The driver sustained head, neck, shoulder, and mid-back injuries, and medical treatment was provided to the contact. A police report was taken. The vehicle was towed to an independent mechanic where it was diagnosed that the air bag, air bag sensor, driver's headlamp, driver's seat belt, and driver's door, needed to be replaced. The vehicle

Impossible I just bought this vehicle in 02-2026 and was not made aware of anything being done.. no records online either of repairs . Car is very unsafe to be driving

Recall 23V228 was performed on my vehicle (brace installed), but the structural failure the recall was meant to prevent has occurred anyway. Honda is denying a buyback by claiming 'general rust,' despite stating the vehicle is irreparable and unsafe to drive.. I live in [XXX] . [XXX] on [XXX] noted the frame damage. I spoke to Honda Corporate was given case #XXX and was told to take it to a dealer. I took it to Lia Honda in Northhampon who said the frame is irreperable but it doesn't fall under the recall.
