Owners of the 2013 Chevrolet Corvette have filed 82 safety complaints with NHTSA between July 2013 and June 2026. The most complained-about system is the fuel and propulsion system, named in 46 of them (56%). The typical failure was reported at 18,250 miles, the median across the 48 complaints that gave an odometer reading.

No recall campaign was matched to this year, make and model. That is not the same as a clean vehicle: recalls are issued against production ranges, and the only reliable check is your own VIN.

UNKNOWN OR OTHER
Just recently I noticed that the leather on my dashboard has started to become unglued. My concern is 1) this is a defect that is common to not only C6 corvette modes (mine) but to C7 (google it on the internet) and some C8 models (information from Service Manager at Tasca Corvette in Wheeling, Illinois when he inspected my vehicle yesterday), 2) since there is an airbag in this location what affect will the loose dashboard leather have on the deployment of the airbag(s) thus becoming a safety issue.

Fuel tank leaking Gas smell

FUEL/PROPULSION SYSTEM
Strong smell of fuel after parking the car in the garage. Inspection by the dealership confirmed the fuel pump assembly is leaking. The car was left for replacement of the fuel pump assembly due to the strong possibility of fire. This is a known issue with the C6 model of Corvette and was addressed by a gm TSB in 2011 rather than more appropriately by a recall. Of more concern to me is the fact that my car was produced in 2013 with a known defective part affecting safety. The cost of the repair is over $5000.

ENGINE
My Corvette c6 model has had a longterm issue with the left fuel pump, which I was not made aware of by the local dealership servicing my vehicle or the manufacturer, General Motors. I recently discovered the fuel pump issue, which results in a significant fuel leak thru the bottom left side of the vehicle. GM and the dealership failed to notify me of this issue even though they issued a Special Bulletin that addresses the fuel pump issue and which advises dealerships to repair the vehicle at no cost to the owner - me. I have complained to General Motors and I'm currently awaiting their response to my complaint and request for assistance with the repairs. As of 9:00 am Pacific Time,

Where these numbers come from

A complaint is one owner's account and has not been verified by NHTSA or by us. A vehicle with more complaints is not necessarily worse: models that sold in larger numbers collect more of them. How this is counted.
