The typical failure was reported at 4,500 miles, the median across the 10 complaints that gave an odometer reading.

No recall campaign was matched to this year, make and model. That is not the same as a clean vehicle: recalls are issued against production ranges, and the only reliable check is your own VIN.

Driving south on I95 under normal condition. After driving for about a hour truck started smoking under the hood. I pulled over and turned off vehicle. I released the latch to open hood. When I got out of the vehicle to lift the hood there were flames coming from both sides of the hood. I did not lift the hood. I moved away from the vehicle and called 911. Police and fire department responded and extinguished the fire. Vehicle was a total loss. GM indicates they will not investigate the cause and I should work through my insurance company for compensation.

STRUCTURE:BODY
On Thursday, July 9, 2026, at approximately 2:30 p.m., I was driving my 2025 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 Duramax on Highway 40 while towing a properly connected trailer. The Multi-Flex tailgate had been fully closed and latched before I began my trip and had not been opened at any point prior to the incident. While traveling on the highway, a California Highway Patrol officer pulled alongside my vehicle and alerted me that my tailgate was down and bouncing on the trailer I was towing. I immediately pulled over to the shoulder and observed that the entire Multi-Flex tailgate had unexpectedly unlatched and was resting on the trailer. I closed and latched the tailgate, which appeared to operate

ENGINE
Leased a 2025 Chevy Silverado in late 2025. On June 13th 2026 driving home my vehicle all of a sudden had very little power, check engine light went on and thankfully I was at my driveway. Pulled into my residence, shut truck off and called the dealer I leased the truck from at 1:00 pm Satuarday, June 13th. They set me up with a loaner vehicle. I called for a tow truck Monday the June 15th and had truck delivered to dealership. Ive been told, they are looking into? Beyond that, nothing more.

ENGINE
My 2025 Chevy Silverado 1500 6.2L V8 experienced an internal engine failure at approximately 16,500 miles, requiring replacement of the entire long block under the factory powertrain warranty. The authorized Chevrolet dealership diagnosed internal cylinder wall scoring, and the engine could not be repaired. The failed engine should still be available for inspection if requested. About 4,000 miles after my last oil change, while the Oil Life Monitor still showed about 50% remaining, the vehicle repeatedly displayed "Engine Oil Level Low" warnings. I checked the oil level with the engine cold, and the dipstick showed the level was normal, so I believed the problem was a faulty oil level

Where these numbers come from

A complaint is one owner's account and has not been verified by NHTSA or by us. A vehicle with more complaints is not necessarily worse: models that sold in larger numbers collect more of them. How this is counted.
