The defect
American Honda Motor Company (Honda) is recalling certain 2024-2025 Honda Prologue and 2024 Acura ZDX vehicles. The rearview camera screen may display a distorted or blank image.
The risk
A rearview image that does not display correctly reduces the driver's view behind the vehicle, increasing the risk of a crash or injury.
The remedy
Dealers will replace the rearview camera, free of charge. Interim letters, notifying owners of the safety risk, were mailed July 7, 2026. Additional letters will be sent once the remedy is available, anticipated in late 2026. Owners may contact Honda's customer service at 1-888-234-2138. Honda's numbers for this recall are DO5 and RO6. The information in your report suggests that Honda (American Honda Motor Co.) may have been aware of this issue more than five business days before filing a report with NHTSA. Please be reminded that under Federal law, this agency is to be notified of all safety defect and/or noncompliance decisions within five business days. 49 CFR 573.6 Significant civil penalties can be assessed for this violation.

FUEL/PROPULSION SYSTEM

crash · towed

On December 1, 2025, the 2025 Honda Prologue was pulling into a parking spot between two parked vehicles at low speed. While in forward gear, the Prologue experienced an unexpected acceleration event and collided with three parked vehicles, two of whom were hit with sufficient force to impact adjacent parked vehicles. The driver is unaware of having pressed down on the accelerator and is additionally concerned about why none of the vehicle safety features such as the equipped Collision Mitigation Braking System (CMBS) activated to prevent these collisions. The vehicle was brought to a local Honda dealership, yet they were unable to draw any conclusions regarding why the unexpected

ELECTRICAL SYSTEM
On June 11, 2026, my 2025 Honda Prologue displayed a High Voltage System Alert immediately after I attempted to charge the vehicle. The vehicle would not accept a charge and became inoperable. I brought it to the dealership the same day, and the vehicle has remained there since. The dealership first replaced the charging port, but the vehicle still would not charge. Where these numbers come from

A complaint is one owner's account and has not been verified by NHTSA or by us. A vehicle with more complaints is not necessarily worse: models that sold in larger numbers collect more of them. How this is counted.
