The defect
American Honda Motor Company (Honda) is recalling certain 2024-2025 Honda Prologue and 2024 Acura ZDX vehicles. The rearview camera screen may display a distorted or blank image.
The risk
A rearview image that does not display correctly reduces the driver's view behind the vehicle, increasing the risk of a crash or injury.
The remedy
Dealers will replace the rearview camera, free of charge. Interim letters, notifying owners of the safety risk, were mailed July 7, 2026. Additional letters will be sent once the remedy is available, anticipated in late 2026. Owners may contact Honda's customer service at 1-888-234-2138. Honda's numbers for this recall are DO5 and RO6. The defect
Honda (American Honda Motor Co.) is recalling certain 2024 Acura ZDX and Prologue vehicles. Due to a software error, the instrument panel display may fail. Additionally, a software error may cause the rearview camera to display a blank screen when the vehicle is in reverse. As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard (FMVSS) numbers 101, "Control and Displays," 111, "Rear Visibility," and 305, "Electric-Powered Vehicles."
The risk
An instrument panel display that fails to show critical safety information, such as the speedometer or warning lights, increases the risk of a crash or injury. Additionally, the loss of the rearview camera image can reduce the driver's rear visibility, increasing the risk of a crash or injury.
The remedy
Dealers will update the vehicle radio control module software, free of charge. Owner letters were mailed April 22, 2026. Owners may contact Honda's customer service at 1-888-234-2138. SERVICE BRAKES

While driving my 2024 Honda Prologue, the automatic emergency braking system (part of Honda's Collision Mitigation Braking System) has activated unexpectedly and forcefully multiple times — with no obstacle or vehicle ahead. The most serious incident occurred on [insert date], while traveling at approximately [insert speed] mph. The vehicle suddenly slammed on the brakes without warning or any visible threat in the road. The sudden stop caused whiplash injuries to my wife and two children, who were passengers in the vehicle. We did not crash, but the vehicle behind us narrowly avoided rear-ending us. I have attempted to get the vehicle serviced, but the nearest dealership told me there is a

I purchased this vehicle on October 22, 2024, with the expectation that it met the highest safety standards, including a dependable airbag system designed to protect occupants during collisions. However, on December 23, 2024, I was involved in a major collision where the airbags failed to deploy despite the severity of the impact. The damage to the vehicle was so extensive that it has been declared a total loss by my insurance company.

Break failure on highway causing MVA- multiple attempts were made to slow down and break vehicle to no response what so ever. Pressed breaks all the way down, nothing, no air, no resistance, no sounds, vehicle kept on going. In an attempt to save myself from an accident that could have been much worse, I jumped out of the moving vehicle, landing the back of my head on the cement highway floor toward left end of bumper. This vehicle is not safe and should be taken off the roads. I have 2 toddlers and am traumatized. The vehicle stopped after some impact in the middle of the highway. From the moment of receiving this car there has been some sort of issue with it's breaks. Initially short

SUSPENSION
My 2024 Honda Prologue (VIN [XXX]) produces a loud clicking/knocking noise from the front drive axles when turning, most noticeable during low-speed turns and when accelerating out of a turn. The noise began shortly after I acquired the vehicle at low mileage, consistent with the widely reported front CV joint/axle defect affecting 2024-2026 Prologues. This is a safety concern, not merely a noise. The defect involves internal drive-axle joint irregularities that can progressively worsen and impair propulsion, steering response, and drivability, with risk of eventual axle failure and loss of vehicle control while driving. Honda acknowledged this condition in a XXX dealer Tech Line but

NHTSA complaint 11757572, quoted in part. Filed by an owner and not verified by NHTSA or by us.

STEERING
The front-left CV joint/drive axle system malfunctioned. A loud repetitive clicking began during turns at approximately 1,050 miles. The vehicle and components are available for inspection. The condition creates safety concerns because the vehicle sometimes feels unstable while turning and the steering/drivability regularly feels abnormal. The tires have also developed uneven wear, raising concerns about reduced traction and handling.Separately, the vehicle has twice unexpectedly lurched forward from a complete stop. During both incidents, One-Pedal Driving and Auto Hold were active, the Auto Hold indicator was illuminated, and the brake pedal was not being pressed because Auto Hold was

STEERING
The car makes clicking sound when I make a left or a right turn. The sound is getting louder and more obvious. I took it Honda dealership twice and was told it doesn’t interfere with the driving then they wouldn’t fix it. They will investigate it further. It has been a year and the dealer or the manufacturer hasn’t said anything else.

Where these numbers come from

A complaint is one owner's account and has not been verified by NHTSA or by us. A vehicle with more complaints is not necessarily worse: models that sold in larger numbers collect more of them. How this is counted.
