The defect
Honda (American Honda Motor Co.) is recalling certain 2023 Honda Accord, Accord Hybrid, and 2024 HR-V, Pilot, and Acura Integra vehicles. As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard number 207, "Seating Systems."
The risk
A loose driver's seat may not adequately restrain the driver during a crash, increasing the risk of injury.
The remedy
Dealers will replace the driver's seat cushion frame, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed March 10, 2026. Owners may contact Honda's customer service at 1-888-234-2138. Honda's numbers for this recall are ONC, KND, BNE and ZNF. Vehicle Identification Numbers (VINs) involved in this recall will become searchable on NHTSA.gov beginning February 5, 2026. An investigation means NHTSA has decided a pattern is worth examining. A preliminary evaluation is often closed with no action; an engineering analysis is the stage that usually precedes a recall.

Front Seat Belt Assemblies may be Missing the Rivet that Secures the Quick Connector and Wire Plate

RQ24006

Closed recall query · opened April 4, 2024 · closed March 26, 2025

the seat belts

On April 4, 2024, the Office of Defects Investigations (ODI) opened RQ24006 to investigate American Honda Motor Co.’s (Honda’s) proposed remedy for recall 23V-782 as well as scope of the vehicles involved. Honda issued recall 23V-782 on November 21, 2023, which concerns certain model year (MY) 2023-2024 Honda Accord, Honda Accord Hybrid, and Honda HR-V vehicles. Recall 23V-782 states that the driver and front passenger seat belt pretensioner assemblies may have been manufactured without a rivet that secures the pretensioner quick connector and wire plate. Recall documentation states that seat belt pretensioner assemblies that are missing the rivet will not properly restrain the occupant in the event of a collision, increasing the risk of injury.Subject defective seat belt assemblies are installed as original equipment for both the driver and front passenger positions for the HR-V, but only for the driver position for the Accord and Accord Hybrid. The recall remedy for 23V-782 instructs the technician to inspect both front seat belt pretensioner assemblies and, if necessary, replace them. The inspection procedure requires the technician to utilize a pull force gauge to determine whether the subject component is missing the subject rivet and requires replacement. Parts requiring replacement are determined by whether the pretensioner quick connector separates from the pretensioner assembly while the technician is pulling on the seat belt. If no separation occurs, then the part is determined to be not defective and not require replacement. There have been no reports alleging a failure of seat belt pretensioner assemblies after the inspect and replace remedy for recall 23V-782 was performed. Additionally, no comparable failures have been observed in field data for similar vehicles outside of the scope of the recall. As of the 4th quarter of 2024, the recall completion rate is at approximately 84% of the total recalled population. In view of the lack of failures after the remedy for recall 23V-782 was performed, and the lack of failures in similar vehicles outside of the scope of the recall, ODI is closing this Recall Query (RQ). The Agency reserves the right to take additional action if warranted by future circumstances.

The contact owns a 2024 Honda HR-V. The contact stated while her daughter was driving 30 MPH, the driver attempted to switch lanes to prevent another vehicle from crashing into her vehicle. The contact stated that the steering wheel seized inadvertently, causing the vehicle to drive off the road. The vehicle hit the sidewalk and drove into the ditch, where the vehicle hit a small hill. The air bags did not deploy. The driver hit her head against the steering wheel and sustained neck and head pain. The contact stated that the front driver's side seat belt failed to retract and restrain her daughter; however, the front passenger's side seat belt retracted even though the seat was unoccupied.

POWER TRAIN
*The vehicle exhibited a profound and worrisome vibration under the driver's seat ( I was also told by a Honda Serviceman in the passenger seat during the pre-service test drive, that he felt it, also), when accelerating at speeds of 53 mph and above on the highway. This systematic issue was replicated by the dealership across multiple model years (2023 and 2026 HR-V's), suggesting a fundamental mismatch between the heavy SUV body and the lighter Civic chassis platform. The vehicle is NOT available for inspection upon request because I was forced to trade it in for a competitor's vehicle due to structural concerns. *The safety risk was two-fold: structural unpredictability and driver

Rear liftgate window spontaneously cracked no signs of damage to the rear of vehicle rear glass was mostly intact but had tempered glass fracturing throughout while car was parked. In terms of safety, glass breaking spontaneously can cause damage to eyes/ect. Police report filed, Dealership denies that it is an issue for the 2024 HRV model only 2023. No warnings, or symptoms just the rear window cracking.

Components of concern: collision mitigation braking system - while driving with no car in front of vehicle, car slammed on brakes - could have caused an accident. Yes, available for inspection. Also, lights went off and said to see dealer (have picture that I'm having issues attaching). Lights that went off were : collision mitigation braking system, road departure mitigation system, auto high beam, adaptive cruise control, some driver assist systems cannot operate (clear front windshield or poor viewing distraction) - all at the same time, even when it's no visible windshield issues. Yes, available for inspection. Want to take to Honda dealership but I'm being charged $80 for a diagnostic

SUSPENSION
My wheels will not stay aligned. I’ve had all the property services done to the car, and extra, by a Honda Dealer. I have 8 repair records to alignment on a new car, in under 18 months. Under my state of Virginia laws, only three safety fixes on a car authorize the car as a ‘dud’ and should be a buy back. Honda Corp has in their possession all documents and all notices needed under the law, since November 2025. Honda Corp is not responding. Hello, who holds them to the law? Who is above Honda? It’s been since months since I notified Honda and they won’t follow the law. Who overseas Honda? Hello💻?

Where these numbers come from

A complaint is one owner's account and has not been verified by NHTSA or by us. A vehicle with more complaints is not necessarily worse: models that sold in larger numbers collect more of them. How this is counted.
