SEAT BELTS: REAR/OTHER:BUCKLE ASSEMBLY

26V169000 · March 20, 2026

The defect
Hyundai Motor America (Hyundai) is recalling certain 2026 Hyundai Palisade and 2026 Hyundai Palisade Hybrid vehicles equipped with "Limited" and "Calligraphy" trim packages. The internal wiring within the third-row driver-side seat belt buckle may become damaged and result in a permanent display of a belted third-row driver-side seat on the instrument panel.
The risk
A faulty seat belt status indicator may fail to alert occupants to an unfastened seat belt, increasing the risk of injury.
The remedy
Dealers will install a wiring harness extension and replace the seat belt assembly, as necessary, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed beginning May 8, 2026. Owners may contact Hyundai customer service at 1-855-371-9460. Hyundai's number for this recall is 297. Vehicle Identification Numbers (VINs) involved in this recall became searchable on NHTSA.gov March 21, 2026.

SEATS:MID/REAR ASSEMBLY:POWER ADJUST

26V160000 · March 17, 2026

The defect
Hyundai Motor America (Hyundai) is recalling certain 2026 Palisade and 2026 Palisade Hybrid vehicles equipped with a Limited or Calligraphy trim package. The second and third row power seats may fail to detect a person. The seat may continue to move after contacting a person during powered seat functions, such as one-touch tilt-and-slide or automatic power fold-and-stow.
The risk
A person, especially a child, may become trapped by a rear powered seat, increasing the risk of injury or death.
The remedy
Owners are advised to exercise caution when operating the second and third row power seat functions until the repair is performed. Children are advised to not be in the rear seats or near the rear seating area during power-folding operation. The seat controller and the audio, visual, navigation software will be updated over-the-air (OTA) or by a dealer, as necessary, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed May 14, 2026. Power folding seats do not stop when met with an obstruction. Occupant exiting the 3rd row of the vehicle was squished between the 2nd row seat and door frame of vehicle while trying to exit and it was very painful. When tested at the dealership, they confirmed that, even if excessive force is applied to the seat back while it’s folding or sliding, it will not stop folding or sliding, which could cause physical injury. Dealership stated that there is no sensor to stop the seats from folding, even if there is an obstruction in the way and that you must press the button again to stop it. This is a safety concern for any passengers on the 2nd and 3rd rows, especially children.

A passenger got into the passenger side middle row seat and the seat fold up button was accidentally bumped while the person was trying to get situated and buckled. The seat began moving and folding forward, pinning the passenger between the seat they were in and the back of the front seat. This incident hurt the passenger who had the force of the seat against her and it frightened her very badly. If the door had been locked, the passenger would not have been able to be helped out and could have sustained worse injuries. I have not had the dealer look at this yet as we live almost 3 hours away from the nearest one.

ELECTRICAL SYSTEM

The contact owns a 2026 Hyundai Palisade. The contact stated that while an occupant was seated in the second row passenger seat, the contact accidentally tapped the "ONE-TOUCH" TILT-AND-SLIDE BUTTON. Despite the occupant seated in the second row, the seat continued to fold, nearly crushing the occupant. The occupant managed to jump out of the vehicle as the seat continued to fold; they did not suffer any injuries. The contact stated that the vehicle was in park(P) at the time of the failure, which allowed the occupant to reach safety; the contact noted that had a child or a pet been seated in that second row, the results could have been fatal. The contact received an email from a "Reuters"

2026 Hyundai Palisade Caligraphy Walk-in Auto Cycle crushed my adult daughter's legs between second row seat and the driver's seat. This occurred after my daughter took her seat (in the 2nd row) and our [XXX] grandson (sitting behinder her in the 3rd row seat) inadvertently pressed the "walk-in" button on the back of his mother's seat. Once the auto-cycle started, she did not know how to stop it. This is a completely unacceptable design as the vehicle will move seats in auto-cycle despite the fact that there is a person sitting in the seat. I reported this problem to the dealer and to Hyundai Corporation as a safety issue. I insisted that the vehicle design should be immediately changed and

TIRES
I have a 2026 Hyundai palisade- at the time of the incident, the car has 7,500 or so miles. I had a slow leak in one of the tires and took it to a tire repair shop- he pointed that not one, but all four tires had sidewalk bubbles in them, with some tires having more than one bubble. He said it was highly unusual for that to occur and suggested reaching out to Pirelli and/or the dealer for warranty service on them. I reached out to Pirelli and they advised me to take it to the dealer. The dealer claimed it was a Pirelli issue and I’d need to contact them directly and were unable to service the tires. The person at the dealer also said it was unusual and mentioned that others with the same

The contact owns a 2026 Hyundai Palisade. The contact stated that while driving at various speeds, the vehicle went into LIMP Mode and decelerated to 20 MPH. After parking and restarting the vehicle, the failure was self-corrected, and the vehicle operated normally. The vehicle was taken to the local dealer, who was unable to determine the cause of the failure. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 3,000.

LANE DEPARTURE: ASSIST
When using "Lane Keeping Assistance" the vehicle pulls slightly to the right and continues correcting itself creating a snake like pattern. This is unsettling and other vehicles that I own do not have this pattern including the same model from previous years. This feature is design for safety, however when "Lane Keeping Assistance" in operation the pulling to the right looks like you are going into the other lane then correct's itself and repeats not giving the feel of safety. I have taken it do the dealer and file a report to hyundai both parties had stated they cannot do anything without an error code. I have seen other customers complain about this issue with my make/model. Please help

VISIBILITY/WIPER
Vehicle was purchased new in June 2026. Within approximately six weeks of ownership, I am on my third windshield. Two windshields have fractured after minor impacts from small pebbles or road debris. Incident 1 occurred on or about June 11, 2026. The impact was not audible and was not noticed at the time it occurred. The damage was discovered later as a spider crack approximately the size of a coin, originating from a single point of impact. The crack subsequently propagated well beyond the initial impact point. The windshield was replaced with OEM glass. Incident 2 occurred on July 21, 2026. Light road debris struck the windshield during normal driving, again producing an initial spider

ENGINE
My car is misfiring. It WILL NOT accelerate as it should. It is like bogging down unable to accelerate when it needs to. It’s struggling. Hyundai is aware of the issue and making owners drive regardless while they “wait for a fix”. It’s extremely dangerous. I’ve almost been hit several times trying to merge onto a highway because it will not accelerate. I’ve had total loss of power one time, putting me and my infant in extreme danger. This has been happening since APRIL.

POWER TRAIN
I am reporting multiple recurring safety concerns with my 2026 Hyundai Palisade. Loss of acceleration: Under heavy throttle, the engine revs to approximately 5,000 RPM but the vehicle does not accelerate as expected. This has occurred repeatedly and appears more likely after the vehicle reaches normal operating temperature. During one incident on the highway, I needed to accelerate quickly to avoid surrounding traffic, but the vehicle did not respond as expected, creating a potential safety risk. An authorized Hyundai dealership inspected the vehicle and reset the transmission adaptive values, but the condition remains. Lane Keeping Assistance: The Lane Keeping Assistance system

Where these numbers come from

A complaint is one owner's account and has not been verified by NHTSA or by us. A vehicle with more complaints is not necessarily worse: models that sold in larger numbers collect more of them. How this is counted.
