RE: Failed Radar Braking on a 2024 Hyundai Palisade What component or system failed or malfunctioned .. . . On Feb 8th, 2026 I was driving in to Lakeland FL on I-75 N, in the right hand lane, near a green stoplight following a car 2 lengths ahead. The radar cruise control was slowing me down, keeping up with the car in front. Another driver suddenly cut in front of me from the far left lane. The cruise slammed on the brakes. Within seconds he took a hard right to catch an exit ramp. The radar cruise then accelerated at an extremely high rate, and no Braking, causing me to hit the car in front of me, which was stopped about a car length away at a red light. Our air bags, 3 on driver's side,

ENGINE

1 injured · fire

Engine fire caused by AC compressor. On 09/28/24, at 1700 miles and in the parking lot of a restaurant, smoke suddenly began filling the cabin and when I looked out the window the entire car's front was engulfed in a gray smoke. The overpowering smell was of burning wire insulation, plastic, and rubber. I immediately shut the car off, popped the hood, and was ready to run into the restaurant for a fire extinguisher when I noticed the large cloud of smoke was dissipating, but the heat was still incredibly extreme and a good amount of smoke was still pouring from the engine. My sister-in-law entered the car to retrieve her purse, and her eyes instantly started watering and she had a headache

VISIBILITY/WIPER
Windshield accumulated a lot of pitting in a certain area while driving within the first 27,000 miles. Noticed this after washing wind shield of bugs. One pit expanded to a 1/2 inch crack when turning into the driveway, just off the drivers side lower edge. It later expanded to the edge and and half way across the windshield.

ENGINE
While driving the vehicle, the accelerator pedal was pressed but the vehicle failed to respond and did not accelerate, it simply rolled slowly as the engine continued to idle. The driver increased throttle input in an attempt to get the vehicle to accelerate. The vehicle continued to show no response to the additional throttle. After a delay, the vehicle suddenly resumed normal operation while the higher throttle input was still applied. This resulted in an abrupt and undesired surge of power. While this was occurring, another vehicle was rolling forward in preparation for a left turn. The other driver appeared confused by the Palisade’s lack of acceleration (apparently believing it was

SEAT BELTS
I own a 2024 Hyundai Palisade that is subject to Recall Campaign 283 involving defective seat belt buckle assemblies. Before learning of the recall, the driver's seat belt unexpectedly unlatched while I was driving. This has happened multiple times. The seat belt appeared to be properly fastened before driving but released while the vehicle was in motion. There were no warning lights or messages before the failures. This creates a serious safety hazard because the driver is no longer properly restrained while the vehicle is moving, significantly increasing the risk of injury or death in the event of a sudden stop or crash. After receiving the recall notice, I took the vehicle to an

ENGINE
After the "9C9" emissions recall update the vehicle randomly fails to respond to appropriately throttle input when attempting to accelerate into traffic. The issue is very intermittent - it may occur twice in 10 minutes or drive fine for hours. It has demonstrated both a "bucking" / stuttering / misfire feeling as well as a complete lack of any throttle response. After a few seconds of bucking, the vehicle returns to normal and accelerates smoothly with no change in throttle input. If the throttle failed to respond, pumping the pedal a few times has resumed normal operation. Situation has occurred multiple times since the update and has allowed the vehicle to roll into traffic without the

This vehicle has two open safety recalls that the manufacturer has been unable to repair. Recall 25V607000 (manufacturer campaign 283, seat belt buckles, front row and second row outer) was issued in September 2025. The dealer has attempted the repair since March 2026 and cannot complete it because the buckle assembly is on back order. On a June 2026 repair order the dealer listed the part as "Unrealized" and performed no work. The same repair order also listed recall 26V034000 (manufacturer campaign 292, third row FMVSS 226 ejection mitigation), and that repair was not performed either. The repair order was left in pre-invoice status with no labor or parts, and the odometer moved one mile

Where these numbers come from

A complaint is one owner's account and has not been verified by NHTSA or by us. A vehicle with more complaints is not necessarily worse: models that sold in larger numbers collect more of them. How this is counted.
