General Motors LLC (GM) is recalling certain 2016-2018 Cadillac CTS, 2017-2018 Cadillac ATS, Chevrolet Camaro, and Chevrolet Corvette vehicles. The electric power steering (EPS) assist may fail.
The risk
A loss of power steering assist can require greater steering effort, especially at low speeds, increasing the risk of a crash.
The remedy
Dealers will replace the power steering gear assembly, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed April 15, 2025. Owners may contact Cadilac customer service at 1-800-333-4223 or Chevrolet customer service at 1-800-222-1020. GM's number for this recall is N252497020.

General Motors, LLC (GM) is recalling certain 2017-2021 Chevrolet Camaro vehicles. The plastic "Camaro" emblem, located on the steering wheel air bag cover, may separate during deployment of the frontal driver air bag.
The risk
In the event of a crash, plastic pieces of emblem may act as projectiles from deployment of the driver air bag can increase the risk of injury.
The remedy
GM will notify owners, and dealers will replace the frontal driver side air bag module, free of charge. The recall began April 14, 2021. Owners may contact Chevrolet customer service at 1-800-222-1020. GM's number for this recall is N212327220.

The defect
General Motors LLC (GM) is recalling certain 2016-2018 Cadillac CTS, and 2017 Cadillac ATS, Chevrolet Camaro, and Chevrolet Corvette vehicles. The electric power steering (EPS) assist system may fail.
The risk
Loss of power steering assist would require a higher steering effort, especially at lower speeds, which may increase the risk of a crash.
The remedy
GM will notify owners, and dealers will replace the power steering gear assembly, free of charge. The recall began June 13, 2019. GM' number for this recall is N182182760.

We purchased a vehicle from shamley in El Paso Texas and we were in volved in a head on coullsion. We tried to stop and the breaks didn't function we were going 25 mph. STEERING
On September 21st at 11:00am, I turned on my vehicle and a message stating: drive with care service power steering appeared on my dash. When I attempted to put the vehicle in drive and pull out of my parking spot, my steering wheel was completely locked. I could not turn left or right at all. I put the vehicle back in park and turned the vehicle off. I then contacted USAA to set up a tow as the vehicle was not safe to drive at that point. I purchased two Lexani LX-Twenty Performance tires, both 285/30R20 99W, for my 2017 Chevrolet Camaro ZL1 Convertible on April 19, 2026. On June 9, 2026, while driving down Highway 21 in Sparta, WI, I noticed my vehicle begin to shake. I was traveling at approximately 60mph when I began slowing down and heard a loud pop then my TPMS system indicated my front passenger tire was at 0 PSI. I pulled over on the shoulder of the road and upon further inspection discovered the inside wall of the tire had separated.

I purchased two Lexani LX-Twenty Performance tires, both size 285/30R20 99W, on April 19, 2026, for my 2017 Chevrolet Camaro ZL1 Convertible. On 18 September, 2026, at approximately 1:48am, while traveling on I-88 East near exit 131 in Downers Grove, IL I felt my vehicle begin to shake. I heard a pop noise and pulled over onto the shoulder at approximately 1:52am when my TPMS indicated the driver’s front tire was now at 0 PSI. Upon further inspection I discovered that the inside wall of the tire had separated.

STEERING
The steering system stopped working suddenly. Sounds exactly like the recall but my VIN is not included in the recall. I had to replace the steering system at the local deal shop and I paid 100% of the cost. It only has 12,000 miles.
