TIRES
This is a 2024 Toyota Prius prime lease in February 2024. I went to our trusted local car shop for our annual inspection, and was told that we need to replace all four tires and we’re just passed 24,000 miles on our odometer. We are two seniors living in New York State and we only drive on paved roads. We believe this is a failure both of Toyota and Toyota for choosing these tires on this particular model. We were told we need to spend over $1000 to replace tires on a car we do not own. Toyota pointed us in the direction of Toyo, and Toyo pointed us in the direction of Toyota. This is unacceptable and we do not want to pay $1000 for tires that should not be worn out after 24,000 miles with

Other Toyota and Lexus vehicles sold in the U.S. are either equipped with a different electric rear door lock system or do not have an electric rear door lock system and do not have the condition described in this report. ELECTRICAL SYSTEM
Since Nov 23, 2024 I have had three occasions where the 12 volt battery for the ICE has depleted leaving me stranded. The only indication of the problem is the car will not start. In my last incident I had to charge the battery (disconnected from the car) but inadvertently closed the hatch. Since the car uses electronic locks the only way to open the hatch is to use the emergency release that is located under the rear deck and must use a screw driver to release. This is inherently dangerous since no practical escape possible in an emergency.

VISIBILITY:WINDSHIELD WIPER/WASHER

3,500 miles

The contact owns a 2024 Toyota Prius Prime. The contact stated while driving 65 MPH, the windshield washer and wipers failed to function as intended. The contact drove the vehicle to the shoulder of the road and physically removed mud from the front windshield. The contact stated that an oversized truck hauling mud splashed the vehicle and mud landed on the front windshield. The contact stated that the windshield washer volume and speed was insufficient to clear the windshield. The contact stated that because of the low windshield washer sprayer speed and volume of the washer fluid, the contact feared for his safety. The vehicle was taken to the dealer; however, the failure was not

Where these numbers come from

A complaint is one owner's account and has not been verified by NHTSA or by us. A vehicle with more complaints is not necessarily worse: models that sold in larger numbers collect more of them. How this is counted.
