VEHICLE SPEED CONTROL

1 injured

When driving down interstate five in San Diego, my vehicle decided that it wanted to come to a screeching halt suddenly as the forward collision system activated randomly, causing my neck to jolt and a distill in pain. I had no idea what was going on, but in order to try to get out of the way of traffic, I quickly tried to override what the system was doing after coming to a complete stop, then the accelerator stuck getting the vehicle going over 100 mph. The hybrid system only shut down the gas engine, but the electric was still propelling the vehicle to go forward. I had to hit the button to turn the vehicle to gas only and shift into neutral in order for the vehicle to finally stop

The car eventually caught fire and was completely destroyed, including damage to the structure it was parked next to. USAA has the car currently. My safety was put at risk because the car spontaneously caught fire and burned itself, and nearly burned the structure. There is no way to replicate the problem, as it's a slab of melted metal and plastic. The insurance company currently has the car. I don't know if the manufacturer has inpsected it. There were no warning lights prior to it catching fire after being parked. There was a recall associated with the

ELECTRICAL SYSTEM
On January 6, 2025, one week after picking up the new vehicle from the car dealers lot I was driving on the Merritt parkway when suddenly the AEB light came on and then the traction control and engine light. The vehicle quickly lost power and even with my foot pressed fully on the gas pedal, it would not accelerate and slowed to 20 mph within seconds. Fortunately, there was no car behind me, and I was able to coast into a rest stop. If there were a vehicle behind me, it probably would’ve crashed into me when my car quickly decelerated. I turned off the car and then restarted it. I was able to drive it 3 more miles and it happened again. I pulled onto the shoulder, turned the car off and

Where these numbers come from

A complaint is one owner's account and has not been verified by NHTSA or by us. A vehicle with more complaints is not necessarily worse: models that sold in larger numbers collect more of them. How this is counted.
