The defect
Nissan North America, Inc. (Nissan) is recalling certain 2025 Murano, 2025-2026 Armada, and Infiniti QX80 vehicles. A software error may occur in the In-Vehicle Infotainment (IVI) system at vehicle startup, resulting in the rearview camera image not displaying when the vehicle is shifted into reverse. As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard (FMVSS) number 111, "Rear Visibility."
The risk
A rearview image that does not display reduces the driver's view behind the vehicle, increasing the risk of a crash.
The remedy
The IVI system software will be updated by a dealer, or through an over-the-air (OTA) update, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed February 2, 2026. Owners may contact Nissan's customer service at 800-647-7261 or Infiniti's customer service at 1-800-662-6200. Nissan's numbers for this recall are R25D6, R25D5, and R25D7. Vehicle Identification Numbers (VINs) involved in this recall will become searchable on NHTSA.gov beginning December 12, 2025.

The defect
Nissan North America, Inc. (Nissan) is recalling certain 2025 Murano, Pathfinder, and INFINITI QX60 vehicles. One or both front brake caliper assemblies may have reduced strength and could break. As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard number 135, "Light Vehicle Brake Systems."
The risk
A broken front brake caliper can cause a loss of front brake function, increasing the risk of a crash.
The remedy
Dealers will inspect and replace the front brake caliper assemblies as necessary, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed May 9, 2025. Owners may contact Nissan's customer service at 800-647-7261 or INFINITI's customer service at 1-800-662-6200. Nissan's numbers for this recall are PD137 and PD138.

My wife had bought a new 2025 Nissan Murano two days earlier for our 28th Wedding Anniversary. We were rear-ended at a high rate of speed and pushed into a parking lot and went through a chain link fence and hit 3 parked cars. The front end was also at a high rate of speed. My Wife hit her head on the dash with no dash airbag deployment and My Steering wheel airbag did not deploy. This caused my wife and I to have broken backs I had L2 fracture and Immediate fusion with titanium pins and rods. Wife had L1 fracture front and back. I was airlifted to trauma center and my wife air was not there and they took her by Ambulance to trauma center. this is a defect from factory that needs a recall

New leased 2025 Nissan Murano vehicle 7,386 miles with recent software upgrade by Nissan dealer, Keyport, New Jersey. As I accelerated from a complete stop, the vehicle experienced an unintended increased excessive speed acceleration and when I applied the brakes to slow the vehicle, the acceleration wouldn't stop knocking me back into my headrest hurting my neck and right ankle. I had to shut off the vehicle to stop it. I then proceeded to attempt restarting to exit the roadway safely and it failed to start keeping in the lane of traffic. A message displayed to update the vehicle software which I did immediately and was unable to restart during vehicle requested update. I put on my hazard

crash

I was in a parking ramp attempting to park in a tight space that required back & forth maneuvering. I was going forward towards a concrete wall. All of a sudden my car lurched forward to the wall causing damage to my car. This all happened in a matter of seconds. Speed was minimal.

SERVICE BRAKES
The Electronic Parking Brake (EPB) actuators are bolted directly to the brake caliper. It has been detected that the factory retaining bolts lack a threadlocking compound (such as Loctite) to prevent them from backing out due to normal vehicle vibration. As a result, the bolts back out completely and fall off, causing the actuator to become loose and detach from the brake caliper.

ELECTRICAL SYSTEM
One week ago (6/19) while driving the main screen went black. I pulled over and restarted engine 3x with no luck so drove to dealership. Another startup there it was still black. I was told by service manager “I cannot have you drive it like that” and I was offered a rental which I accepted. Just prior to claiming the rental I again started my Murano and the screen was normal again. I took my vehicle but made an appt to have things checked on Monday. At that time I was told that it just needed a software update. That was concerning to me because how would I know in the future it needed an update prior to another incident of the screen going black. Response was that I wouldn’t. Yikes!

VEHICLE SPEED CONTROL
Four times in the last month or so, the accelerator pedal has stuck while driving. I take my foot off the gas but the engine continues racing, and the car keeps increasing in speed. The last time it happened I almost ran into the car in front of me. I slammed hard on the brakes to try and stop the momentum. I heard a loud pop and the accelerator eventually returned to normal, but it took 4 or 5 seconds. The local Nissan Dealer cannot find any problems, and cannot repeat the problem despite numerous test drives. The car is less than halfway through a 39 month lease. I have contacted Nissan Customer Care and hope to have them buy back the lease without any cost to me. I am afraid to drive the

ENGINE
Sluggish engine, delayed engine engagement, delayed throttle response. Engine noise under acceleration. My safety is being put at risk when pulling out into oncoming traffic on the highway, engine is not shifting, vehicle not moving as fast as it should. Technical Expert sent out by Arbitrator with the BBB Autoline who confirmed multiple issues with the engine. Vehicle has been to Nissan dealerships, but one dealership said it was a normal characteristic of the vehicle and other states unable to duplicate. Going up railroad track vehicle shifts really hard coming down. Keep receiving warning light for sensor malfunction, also had issue with pumping fuel, driver's front door bolt coming out,

Where these numbers come from

A complaint is one owner's account and has not been verified by NHTSA or by us. A vehicle with more complaints is not necessarily worse: models that sold in larger numbers collect more of them. How this is counted.
