The defect
Nissan North America, Inc. (Nissan) is recalling certain 2018-2019 Nissan Altima, Armada, Frontier, Kicks, Leaf, Maxima, Murano, NV, NV200, Pathfinder, Rogue, Rogue Sport, Sentra, Titan, Titan Diesel, Versa Note and Versa Sedan vehicles, as well as Infiniti Q50, Q60, QX30 and QX80 vehicles. Additionally included are 2019 Nissan GT-R and Taxi and Infiniti QX50, QX60, Q70, Q70L vehicles. The back-up camera and display settings can be adjusted such that the rear view image is no longer visible and the system will retain that setting the next time the vehicle is placed in reverse. As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard (FMVSS) number 111, "Rear Visibility."
The risk
The lack of an image in the back-up camera display increases the risk of a crash.
The remedy
Nissan will notify owners in phases, having dealers update the back-up camera settings software, free of charge. The recall began November 11, 2019 and all affected VINs should be activated. Owners may contact Nissan customer service at 1-800-867-7669 or INFINITI customer service at 1-800-662-6200.

SERVICE BRAKES
My car wouldn't start one morning. All lights lit up on dash, headlights continually started flashing and fan running under hood. I had to get to work so took a Lyft. I knew older son would be home from firestation around 830. When he got there battery completely dead. He jumped the car started right up. He drove to autozone to have battery checked (about 5 blocks). Battery was fine. He drove home. When I got home car started right up. I started it up again about 5 hours later. Went on my road trip I had planned about 2 hour drive. On Sunday I get in my car to leave and it does same thing it did Friday morning. I had to have car towed back to Nissan dealership in my hometown ( 700.00).

UNKNOWN OR OTHER
Known issue with sunroof drains clogging and leaking into vehicle. Could Possibly cause electrical damage. The rear drains are clogged and are not accessible without removing interior trim/headliner to clear. A consumer should not have to spend $500+ to have sunroof drain lines cleared. Unknowingly, Back floor board was full of water and car was parked for multiple days. Upon opening the door, the moldy, mildew smell was overwhelming. I had to drive with windows down. When I returned home, that’s when I discovered the back floorboard soaked. I removed the floor mat and the backside was covered in mold. I can only imagine what is beneath the carpet or inside the walls due to this known

STRUCTURE:BODY
I am submitting this complaint regarding a manufacturing defect, specifically premature paint delamination of the exterior, factory-applied, Pearl White paint. The paint is lifting, bubbling, peeling and flaking exposing primer and metal. This damage did not result from impact, environmental exposure, improper maintenance, or misuse. The vehicle was inspected at a certified autobody repair facility and confirmed to be a factory defect. Nissan has declined to take responsibility for this defect despite the fact that this condition is a widely documented and recognized as mfg defect affecting Nissan vehicles across multiple model years. EXTERIOR LIGHTING
Both headlight assemblies on my 2019 Nissan Murano have developed water intrusion inside the sealed LED headlight housing. The first headlight failed in March 2025 when moisture entered the assembly and caused the light to malfunction. The dealership diagnosed water intrusion into the sealed headlight assembly and advised that the entire unit must be replaced because the LED assembly is not serviceable. The repair estimate was approximately $2,400. The second headlight assembly has now developed the same issue, with visible moisture inside the housing. These headlights are sealed LED units with no replaceable bulbs. When moisture enters the assembly, the entire headlight must be replaced.

Where these numbers come from

A complaint is one owner's account and has not been verified by NHTSA or by us. A vehicle with more complaints is not necessarily worse: models that sold in larger numbers collect more of them. How this is counted.
