- A dealership in DFW replaced the drive seat frame in truck due to metal creaking while driving. After the replacement everything was fine until my friend hit her toe against driver side seat frame covered by felt tape. From the factory the truck comes with plastic frame guards to prevent injury to rear passengers but Toyota has failed to fix the issue several times. I recently found out that all Tundra's with powered seats have this safety issue as I was talking to dealer employee who recently purchased a 2024 Tundra then we walked the lot and every single higher trim Tundra with powered seats all have this felt tape over the metal substructure. The felt tape provides no shock absorbing

fire

On February 25, 2025, I took my 2023 Toyota Tundra VIN# [XXX] to Stokes Toyota Beaufort, SC, for its 45,000-mile service. Just 300 meters after leaving the dealership, my truck caught fire, causing significant damage and putting my safety at risk. I am sharing pictures of the incident and the warning messages I received on the dashboard. I was on my way back to the dealership when this happened. At first, the truck was shaking and losing power. I managed to make a U-turn to return to the dealership, but then the engine stalled. At that moment, I started seeing warning messages on the dashboard. I immediately called the dealership to inform them that I was experiencing issues with my truck.

POWER TRAIN
My wife and I purchased a brand new Tundra LTD in May 2023. An important note to keep in mind is that my wife and I not only purchased the new Tundra but also a new travel trailer so we could enjoy our nation's national parks during our retirement years. I will relate that to my complaint shortly. It wasn't long after our purchase that we became aware of the issue of machining debris possibly contaminating the engine block which can result in sudden engine failure. Right now, because Toyota has not resolved our issue and communication has generally been close to non-existent. We no longer feel we can safely take our truck and trailer to the remote national parks of the American southwest

POWER TRAIN
As many have spoken about already, I have the hesitation or lag from stop or rolling at very slow speeds. I kind of learned to live with it but feel it's getting worse. My wife had to drive the truck, and she said it was very scary and did not feel safe. I know it is not the engine as I had it replaced and problem is still very much there! There have been so many issues with this truck. Brakes have never stopped squeaking; one dealership guy told me it is the cheap pads Toyota put on them.

ENGINE
On April 7, 2026, at 5:00 PM, while driving, I noticed something unusual with my car, and it broke down on the side of the road, leaving me panicked and frightened. After the car stopped, I got out and looked at the engine from underneath; I saw engine oil spraying out of the engine. I then had the car towed to a safe location, and a few days later, I took it to the Toyota dealership.
